Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER) has a history that dates back to 1984 when its predecessor the Engineering College was established. Then in 1989 Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital was founded. In 2002 the college was granted university status and became Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research. A year later the Bharath Institute of Science and Technology was established. The university operates across six campuses located in Tamil Nadu and Pudhucherry, South India. The region of Tamil Nadu has a rich and extensive history. The Tamil Nadu of today was formed in 1956 after the reorganisation of Indian states. The state is known for its numerous historical buildings, religious temples, three World Heritage sites, beautifuk beaches and bustling cities. Academically the university is divided into six schools, namely architecture, dentistry, engineering and technology, medicine, nursing, and physiotherapy. Each school offers courses at both undergraduate and graduate level. Since 2003 the university has engaged in a range of research activities. It boasts state-of-the-art facilities and fully equipped laboratories that are available for both students and staff. The university is committed to producing innovative research in order to develop knowledge and to educate the community. The university’s academic and research excellence has been recognised in recent years. In 2014 the World Education Congress awarded it the "Best Private University of the Year" and in the same year the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India declared it the "Best Multi Stream University".

Founded in 2024, ACAMI is a collaborative centre spanning research, clinical trials, and workforce development at the intersection of AI and healthcare. It supports medical research institutes and industry partners, strengthening Victoria’s globally recognised life sciences ecosystem and ensuring it keeps pace with emerging AI advancements. Reporting to the Director and Chief Scientist of ACAMI, the Associate Professor (Research) will collaborate closely with the Director and Chief Scientist, Director of Development, the ACAMI team, and both internal and external stakeholders to advance ACAMI’s mission. This includes positioning the centre as a commercially sustainable entity that leverages AI, data and innovation to drive transformation and growth across AI-enabled medical and biomedical ecosystems in Victoria. The appointee will be expected to establish, attract and lead new research programs and teams within ACAMI, building capability by bringing together high performing researchers, postdoctoral fellows, academic collaborators, clinical partners and industry stakeholders around key AI-driven medical innovation themes. The role will provide senior research leadership likely in computational biology or AI in biomedicine while strengthening ACAMI’s research profile, expanding its external funding base, and enhancing its translational impact. Duties at this level: Attract, establish and integrate new research groups or research clusters into ACAMI, including identifying complementary research capabilities, engaging internal and external collaborators, developing major research plans and building sustainable programs supported by external funding and strategic partnerships. Secure significant external research funding from both industry and government sources by initiating large-scale competitive research funding proposals and building collaborative partnerships. Lead major research projects and emerging research groups within the Centre, guiding teams under ACAMI’s Director & Chief Scientist to deliver impactful AI solutions for real-world medical, biological and clinical challenges. Collaborate with ACAMI’s Director, Development and relevant University research, commercialisation and partnership teams to identify, protect and progress intellectual property, software, product and implementation opportunities arising from ACAMI research, including industry co-development, licensing, commercialisation or clinical adoption pathways. Skills and knowledge: Completion of a PhD or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline area, such as AI/ML for mRNA, Computational Biology, Biomedical Informatics, Bioinformatics, Computational Medicine, or a related field. A substantial and internationally recognised record of excellence in AI-enabled biomedical, biological, clinical, health or medical innovation, demonstrated by applying AI/ML, computational, data-intensive or related approaches to significant medical and health challenges. A significant record of securing substantial external funding and partner investment to support AI-enabled biomedical, clinical, health or medical innovation, including through competitive grants, industry partnerships, government contracts, philanthropic funding and consultancies, with evidence of using such funding to build research capacity, support research teams and grow sustainable research programs. About HTMR: The High Throughput Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory (HTMR) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is a state-of-the-art research facility dedicated to accelerating scientific discovery through automation, digitalization, and high-throughput experimentation. By integrating advanced robotics, intelligent workflows, and multidisciplinary expertise, HTMR enables researchers to rapidly design, synthesize, and optimize materials and processes across fields such as energy, metallurgy, smart materials, chemical engineering, and environmental science. The laboratory bridges fundamental research with industrial applications, helping transform innovative ideas into scalable technologies while reducing development time, cost, and experimental complexity. Starting date: 1st September 2026 Sodium-ion batteries are a growing technology and show promising potential for large scale applications. However, developing efficient positive electrode materials is a key factor in advancing this technology and promoting its use in practical applications. NaSICON (Natrium Super Ionic CONductor) materials have a 3D structure allowing the fast diffusion of sodium during the electrochemical reaction of charge/ discharge as well as good structural and thermal stabilities. This project targets the synthesis, characterization, and electrochemical evaluation of P-based NaSICON-type materials as positive electrodes for sodium-ion batteries. We are looking for an assiduous, ambitious, and engaged Postdoctoral Researcher with a strong background in chemistry of materials, materials science, electrochemistry, materials synthesis and battery research. Key responsibilities: Synthesis of different P-based materials via the sol-gel and solvothermal methods with control over morphology, particle size, and composition. Material characterization using XRD, SEM, EDS, ICP, BET, TGA, FTIR, RAMAN spectroscopy, etc. Electrode preparation, battery assembly, and evaluation of the electrochemical properties versus metallic sodium using different testing techniques (GCPL, CV, GITT, EIS, etc.). Establishing relationships between the physical and chemical properties of P-based cathodes and their electrochemical performance in sodium-ion half-cell and full cell configurations.  Performing advanced characterization using in-situ XRD, XPS, 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy and NMR to investigate material behavior and interfacial chemistry during synthesis and battery operation. Develop mechanistic understanding of cathode operation and degradation, identify pathways to improve the performance and safety of advanced electrochemical cells. Analyzing and interpreting experimental data and communicating findings through manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, presentations at scientific conferences, internal reports, group meeting presentations.
