Join us as the Strategic Head of Hub for the ICURe Southern Belt (across London and southern England and South Wales) Your role You’ll be joining a university that is highly ranked in the UK for consultancy income generated and that has started 80 spinout and start-up companies since 2000. Your work could touch pioneering developments in cancer immunology, respiratory medicine, next generation diagnostics, clean energy and sustainability, marine, photonics and electronics and computer science. You will: work closely with Innovate UK senior leadership to align planned activity with the strategic research, innovation, and skills priorities of Innovate UK and UKRI. work alongside IUK senior leadership, delivery partners and key stakeholders build relationships across UKRI, accelerators, investors, incubators and the wider university spin out ecosystem across London, southern England and southern Wales. build long-term partnerships with key regional and national funding organisations to maximise opportunities for external funding, long-term financial sustainability, and delivery of commercial outcomes. Lead strategic level projects from initial creation to impact outcomes at the end.  Work with early stage deep-tech and life science university spinouts, supporting them to establish and grow, and help them as they secure funding, build their teams and enter the market. Work at a national level on the Innovation-to-Commercialisation of University Research (ICURe) programme and lead on building a national ICURe alumni engagement strategy. About You This role is a senior, strategic level role where you will bring networks across the whole of our region, and have excellent contacts with partners such as UKRI, PSREs and nationally focused accelerators. Regional government economic development contacts would also be valuable You should have substantial experience of working with investment and with spin out companies. You should be self-starting and able to develop relationships swiftly You should have the ability to work successfully from home but also be willing to travel regularly within the southern region and London, as well as occasional national travel. Ref.: 534800 Work type: Full-time Department: Department of Diagnostic Radiology, School of Clinical Medicine (20500) Categories: Professoriate Staff Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.:534800), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree and associated post-doctoral training in Medical Imaging Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or Biomedical Engineering. They should demonstrate (i) evidence of international recognition and scholarship; (ii) the ability to work across disciplines towards new research initiatives; (iii) a strong track record of high-quality research as indicated by publications (including multiple publications in high-impact journals of impact factor >10) and external grants; and (iv) a strong commitment to engage students at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The appointee will provide leadership in imaging research with particular focus on pre-clinical animal imaging research, and assist with managing pre-clinical animal imaging infrastructures within the Department. He/She is expected to participate in applications for external competitive research grants for the Department, and will contribute to teach undergraduate and postgraduate programs, supervise student projects and theses, and take up administrative duties as required. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary. Are you interested making logistics more sustainable? This role offers the opportunity to conduct in-depth research into logistics systems, supply chain renewal, and emerging technologies. The professorship of sustainable logistics in industrial engineering and management is located at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) of the LUT School of Engineering Sciences. The position is based in Kouvola, Finland. IEM is an integrative, solution-oriented discipline that addresses organisations and their networks as technological, economic, and social systems with the objective of enabling innovations, creating value, and leading businesses towards high efficiency, profitability, and sustainability. The department’s research focuses specifically on innovation and technology management, logistics and supply chains, operations management, cost and performance management, entrepreneurship, and systems engineering. What we expect from you The professorship will reinforce the IEM department’s logistics and innovation research and education. The person appointed to the position must present strong research merits in sustainable logistics in industrial management. Applicants must have proven expertise in at least one of the following fields: Logistics management and services, transportation systems Supply chain management, sustainability in logistics Artificial intelligence in logistic applications of industrial management Practical experience in the field is not a requirement in this position, but strong evidence of industrial research and development projects is considered an advantage. The professorship will be filled through an open application process, with a fixed four-year term for the assistant/associate professor level or a permanent appointment for the full professor level. A six-month trial period applies. The salary is determined according to the salary system for university teaching and research personnel. The pay will include an individual pay component based on performance and competence. The gross annual salary of an assistant/associate professor ranges from 50,500 to 68,000 euros and that of a full professor from 70,000 to 104,800 euros, depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
