Established in 2012, the Basrah University College of Science and Technology is a university college in the city of Basra in southern Iraq. It is one of about 22 private universities in Iraq.

It consists of five departments including information and communication engineering, business administration, pharmacy, medical analysis and English language.

Research areas include the 5G mobile network at the Basra Wireless Communication Research Lab, smart technology and cognitive radio. The university has also published research papers in the humanities and social sciences, microbiology and biotechnology and engineering in a number of different journals.

All classes are taught in Arabic. Programmes are full time and last for three years, with application deadlines in the autumn and spring.

Professor Muhammed Ali Al-Rudaini is the Dean of Basrah University College of Science and Technology.

The city of Basra is considered to be Iraq's main port. There are many areas of interest within the city including the old mosque of Basra, palm tree forests, Basra Sports City, the theme park called the Fun City of Basra, Akhora Park and many markets including the Indian Market.

About the Department/College The Department of Educational Specialties (ESP) is part of the College of Education (COE) and offers undergraduate and graduate programs in applied behavior analysis, special education, bilingual and multicultural education, career and technical education, and educational technology. Courses are designed with flexibility in mind to support students as they balance work, family, and academic responsibilities, and coursework is directly connected to the knowledge and skills required in applied settings. The Department of Educational Specialties prepares professionals to meet the needs of all learners in today's classrooms and communities. As a core faculty member, the successful candidate will be involved in teaching, accreditation, and programmatic decision-making for the graduate programs in ABA.About the Position The Department of Educational Specialties is seeking a full-time, career- track (non-tenure) faculty position beginning Fall 2026 to coordinate the MEd in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behavior Support (PBS) Graduate Certificate programs. The successful candidate will teach asynchronous online courses for students preparing to take the national exam to become BCBAs, as well as lead the process of securing professional association accreditation to meet the BACB's 2032 Pathway 1 requirements. We are interested in candidates who have experience providing behavior analytic services and have mentored and supervised others providing interventions based on the science of ABA. We encourage applications from candidates who have experience with accreditation and program leadership. This position is located on the Flagstaff Mountain Campus.Responsibilities Include Teach online graduate classes in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behavior Support (PBS). Coordinate the MEd in ABA and PBSGraduate Certificate programs preparing future BCBAs to address the market demand for professional practitioners in the field. Lead the process of securing professional association accreditation for the MEd in ABA program to fulfill the BACB's 2032 Pathway 1 requirements. Recruit and advise students in the ABA and PBS programs while teaming with other university departments to promote the admission and matriculation of students. Participate in the development and management of quality assessment within the program. Collaborate with other faculty to promote innovation and continuous improvement in course content and pedagogy. Fulfill service responsibilities to the department, college, university, and profession. Minimum Qualifications Educational Requirements: An earned doctorate in Special Education, Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field from a regionally accredited institution. ABD candidates may be considered only if they plan to have their degree by the start date. Qualifications and Experience: PhD or terminal degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, or Related FieldA current Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential [BCBA-D preferred]. Online teaching experience (can include college teaching as a graduate assistant). Clinical and supervisory experience as a practicing behavior analyst. *A combination of related education, experience, and training may be used as an equivalent to the above Minimum Qualifications.Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into teaching including experience with online delivery of higher education and associated support systems. The team is part of the Research Strategy & Performance Unit within the Research Management & Innovation Directorate (RMID). RMID enables world-class research at King’s by providing grant support, platforms and services that accelerate the work of King’s researchers. About the role Knowledge Exchange at King’s brings together universities, business, users of research and wider communities to ensure our research translates into societal impact. King’s has a long history of service to society and a strategic focus on being a civic university which serves to shape and transform. This role is a crucial part of ensuring our Knowledge Exchange activities are effective, impactful, and align with our strategic direction. The role supports essential work for our impact-related statutory returns. The Knowledge Exchange Senior Officer supports the Knowledge Exchange Manager to enable the Knowledge Exchange processes and returns for King’s. They are responsible for identifying, collating and analysing relevant data, and for clearly communicating the outcomes with colleagues across the university. The Knowledge Exchange Senior Officer sits withing the wider REF, KEF and Research Impact team and supports elements of the Research Excellence Framework (REF) process and the Public and Community Engagement with Research team. The role will co-ordinate the process for the university’s annual Higher Education Business and Community Interaction (HEBCI) Survey return. They will also provide support for elements of the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) and REF returns, and help manage King’s Higher Education Innovation Funding (HEIF). They will co-ordinate and organise the Knowledge Exchange internal and external staff networks and act as secretariat for meetings. The Knowledge Exchange Senior Officer will operate across King’s, building relationships with colleagues including senior leaders. This is a hybrid role, based in part from home with an expectation of regular in-office attendance when needed. The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences is seeking to appoint a motivated individual to join the Medical Programme Professional Service Team. The post holder will work closely with the Senior Administrative Officer and Medical Programme Manager to support them in delivering assessment and progression processes and for the School of Medicine’s Graduate Medicine programme. About the role This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual experienced in the practice and communication of sound statistical principles to join our Faculty. The Faculty supports high quality epidemiological studies and complex clinical trials in nursing, midwifery, palliative care, rehabilitation, technologies, and health services research. You will contribute to new grant applications and advise on studies to completion and publication, including supervision of junior statisticians. You will also contribute to teaching, provide PhD and MSc supervision and contribute to improving statistical skills across the Faculty. You will be associated with the UKCRC-registered King’s Clinical Trials Unit (CTU), working to their quality management system. The King’s CTU has world-leading statistical and trial delivery expertise and provides randomisation services and other management system support. You will be involved in grant applications to a variety of funding streams such as those offered by the National Institute for Health and Care Research and the Medical Research Council (MRC), including pilot/feasibility to definitive trials and fellowships that typically involve trials or epidemiology using big data. There are excellent opportunities to develop, lead and apply novel methods and approaches, in response to complexities in data structures, interventions and outcome measures across the research areas of the Faculty.
