Bartin University was founded in 2008 and is located in the Black Sea Region and near to Turkey’s capital city of Ankara.
The university has two campuses in Bartin City centre and other campuses in Kurucasile and Ulus.
There are nine faculties at the university: literature, education, natural and applied sciences, economics and administrative sciences, Islamic sciences, forestry, health sciences, physical education, and the faculty of engineering, architecture and design. As well as this, the university has an institute and four vocational schools.
The university has a variety of cultural and sports activities for students to enjoy outside of their study times. There are 54 student clubs including cycling, literature and entrepreneurship. The university has produced several world champions in a range of sports.
The university has partnerships with over 60 universities in three different continents. Through Erasmus+ and Mevlana, students have the opportunity to study or intern for up to a year, learning new languages and cultures through a student exchange programme.
