The Bangladesh Army International University of Science and Technology was founded in 2015, affiliated with the Bangladesh Army. The main campus is located in Cumilla, a city in Eastern Bangladesh known for its educational successes. The university is run by the Bangladesh Army and senior members belong to the Army.
The university has seven departments: arts and English, business administration, civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, law, and sciences and humanities. Across these departments, students study four-year flexible degrees, studying additional subjects to explore the fields that interest them.
Student life is bustling on campus, with over 11 student clubs: culture, computer, business, language photography, sports, debate, law, and robotics to name a few.
Cumilla is one of the three oldest cities in Bangladesh and has been known historically for its role in the collection of hides and skins, cotton mills and a thermal power station. It was famously home to Shib Narayan Das, one of the designers of Bangladesh’s first flag. Top sights include archeological site, Shalban Vihara, and mountain peak, Lalmai Pahar.
