Job description: Sustainable Materials Research Center (SUSMAT-RC) is seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral fellow to join our research team focused on the development of new sustainable formulations for different applications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of formulation chemistry to develop promising solutions and demonstrate its potential in addressing important Moroccan challenges. Key duties: The successful candidate is expected to: Contribute to the group’s activities in formulation chemistry, organic chemistry, liquid formulations, and their applications. Design and develop formulations based on specific requirements, such as sustainability, performance, stability, and cost-effectiveness. Perform chemical modifications to enhance the properties of the formulations. Proactively engage in collaborative R&D by providing solutions and demonstrating the potential of formulation chemistry in addressing important Moroccan technology challenges. Publish research results in peer-reviewed and high-impact international academic journals of the field and present research results and scientific outcomes to stakeholders and at scientific meetings and conferences. Co-supervise ungraduated, graduate and PhD students  Participate in developing research proposals and programs in the area of collaboration with multidisciplinary groups in the field Criteria of the candidate: To be considered for this role, you will ideally have: PhD in organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, colloids science or related field. Relevant experience and in-depth knowledge in the synthesis, purification, and chemical characterization of organic compounds. Good experience in formulation chemistry Hands-on experience in liquid formulation, characterization, and design as well as in emulsion formulation and characterization tools Experience in biopolymer extraction and functionalization and in chemical modification of vegetable and mineral oils would be an asset.  Application and Selection: Application folder must contain: Detailed CV. Candidate Profile: Due to the multidisciplinary character of ACER CoE, the ideal candidate must have as well a multidisciplinary scientific profile: PhD degree in Materials Science, Chemical Processes or another suitable engineering discipline. Sound background in phosphate-based chemistry Experience in mineral chemistry Knowledge in advanced structural characterizations will be valued. Job description: The Applied Chemistry and Engineering Research Centre of Excellence (ACER CoE) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow position combining skills at the interface between chemistry and chemical engineering under the direction of Prof Youssef Belmabkhout. The successful candidate will develop and conduct applied research programs in chemistry and chemical engineering focusing on designing and development of materials for gas storage applications, gas/vapor/liquid separation purification, sensing and/or waste transformation/energy efficiency. Other duties include advising graduate students and contribution to build up a first-class research-oriented research program at UM6P. The incumbent will be encouraged to collaborate with other researchers in related fields within the centre and within UM6P. The position is open to individuals who hold a Doctoral degree in the subject discipline from a recognized university. The candidate should demonstrate that their PhD work and past experience allow them to have a connection to one or several aspects of the areas of research mentioned above. Very good English communication, both verbal and written, is required. Key duties: Successful candidates are expected to: Conducting scientific research in a team composed of multidisciplinary researchers; Supervise graduate student within ACER CoE; Participate to develop funded research projects and programs in the area in collaboration with multidisciplinary groups in the field; Presenting research results and scientific outcomes to stakeholders and at scientific meetings and conferences; Publish research results in peer-reviewed and high impact international academic journals of the field. Criteria of the candidate:  PhD in chemistry or chemical engineering or other related fields from a recognized University; Demonstrated understanding of research excellence and operational requirements to achieve successful/high-quality research; Publication record in leading international and well ranked journals, preferably on the design and preparation of porous materials for gas/vapor adsorptive and membrane separations; Experience in developing and validating methods, operating and troubleshooting different gas/vapor adsorption/membrane testing instruments; Willingness to learn how to generate new ideas, links, and to build upon existing ideas to generate good concepts and solutions; Ability to co-supervise graduate students; Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language; Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects; Enthusiasm towards generating new ideas and passion for solving challenging problems that require complex creative solutions. Skills: The candidate must have demonstrated a research activity in most of the following disciplinary fields: Synthesis of porous materials (such as MOFs, zeolites or other silica-based materials); Experience in characterization of porous materials using various techniques such as BET, TGA-DSC¬MS, PXRD, SXRD, FTIR, NMR, SEM, XPS, etc. and technical skills on the manipulation of most of those instruments; Experience in the use of academic databases (CCDC, RCSR, ...) and softwares (Material Studio, Diamond, Origin, ....); Evidence of experience in adsorptive or/and membrane separation technologies. Postdoctoral fellow Position in Omics and Soil Microbiome Research (2 years) The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) invites applications for a Postdoctoral fellow position to join an interdisciplinary research project focused on metaproteomic analysis of soil microbial communities. This project aims to identify key genes and enzymes involved in mitigating salinity stress and improving soil health and crop productivity. These positions are part of a broader initiative to develop biofertilizers and sustainable agricultural strategies to combat soil degradation and salinization. Research will involve state-of-the-art metaproteomics, bioinformatics, and functional microbiome studies conducted in field trials, greenhouse experiments, and laboratory settings. This role will focus on the interactions between rhizosphere microbiota and plant roots, investigating how microbial enzymes enhance plant stress tolerance under salinity conditions. The successful candidate will: Conduct metaproteomic and genomic sequencing of microbial communities associated with plant roots. Identify microbial enzymes and functional pathways involved in nutrient acquisition and stress adaptation. Analyze plant-microbe interactions in response to salinity stress. Collaborate on biofertilizer development incorporating beneficial microbial enzymes. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Soil Science, Plant Science, Environmental Science, or a related field. Job Description We are seeking a highly qualified postdoctoral researcher to join our team in the field of environmental chemistry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in conducting research projects aimed at understanding and mitigating contemporary environmental issues. These environmental challenges encompass the management of solid, liquid, and gaseous wastes, leading to air and water pollution. Finding treatment solutions for these wastes or alternatives to reduce the primary sources of these problems is crucial. Specifically, this position will involve exploring various aspects of environmental chemistry and their application in specific research projects. Responsibilities: The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for conducting detailed studies on solid, liquid, and gaseous wastes to understand their composition, origin, and environmental impact.
