For this faculty position, we are looking for candidates with an engineering background, who have extensive experience in the area of digital supply chain. Essential Academic and/or industrial experience in design and managing digital supply chain solutioning and supply chain management. Having a background and interest in one or more fields of digital supply chain, including but not limited to digital supply chain transformation, digital manufacturing, E-procurement, E-commerce, E-logistics. Experience and knowledgeable in one or more areas of supply chain operations management, risk management and operations research, such as demand forecasting, inventory control, procurement, manufacturing, distribution, warehouse and transportation simulation, optimization and management. Motivated to develop and to teach curriculum in supply chain sustainability. Strong demonstration of interest to develop supply chain security, supply chain digital twin, and artificial intelligence solutions through applied research projects. Desirable Good knowledge in digital supply chain-related technologies such as AI, LLMs, Cyber Security, IoT, 3D printing, automation, supply chain security, digital twins, and block chains. Hands on experience in commercial digital supply chain solutioning projects with both hardware and software elements. Experience in digital supply chain related projects with strong integration of the three pillars, i.e., Digitalization, Resilience and Agility, and Green Supply Chain. Preferred to having a PhD in a related technical area. Led or involved in strong industry - academia partnership projects. Description The Genetic Heritage Group in the Science Division, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Associate to join our interdisciplinary team investigating the discovery of novel bioactive compounds from human, animal, and environmental microbiomes. The successful candidate will focus on wet-lab experimental approaches to isolate, culture, and characterize microbial strains from diverse sources, including human, animal, and environmental microbiomes. This role involves genome sequencing and phenotyping of novel isolates, metabolite extraction and preparation for LC-MS/MS analysis, and validation of biosynthetic gene cluster (BGC)–metabolite links using heterologous expression, pathway activation, and functional assays. The project provides deeply sequenced microbiomes from humans and the environment across a lifestyle gradient. The postdoc will mine this diversity to isolate organisms, validate biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs), characterize microbial metabolites, and functionally test candidate compounds. The Post-Doctoral Associate will also purify candidate metabolites using prep-HPLC and fractionation, assess their biological activity (antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, or immunomodulatory), and work closely with computational collaborators to prioritize microbial strains and BGCs for experimental characterization. In addition, the fellow will maintain accurate laboratory records, troubleshoot experiments, and contribute to manuscript preparation and scientific presentations. The candidate will join a highly multidisciplinary environment consisting of population geneticists, microbiome scientists, statisticians, and computational biologists, as well as graduate and undergraduate students. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, Evolutionary Biology, Microbiology, or a related field, and a strong background in microbiology, microbial genetics, natural product chemistry, or related fields, and hands-on experience with bacterial culture, metabolite extraction, LC-MS/MS, HPLC purification, and functional bioassays. Experience with microbial genomics, heterologous expression, or high-throughput screening is highly desirable. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team are essential. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the interface of microbiome science and drug discovery, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to uncover novel therapeutics from underexplored microbial communities. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. We are seeking a motivated Research Engineer to join our team in developing an AI Training Studio — an innovative platform for AI-vision-based quality inspection in manufacturing plants. The system will enable users to drag and drop foundational AI models to build customized AI pipelines for tasks such as image enhancement, detection, segmentation, and robotic control. You will contribute to both the backend development (pipeline orchestration, inference deployment) and the frontend interface (user-friendly drag-and-drop studio, similar to visual workflow tools). This role is ideal for an engineer eager to gain experience in building applied AI systems that bridge research and industrial deployment. Key Responsibilities Backend Development Design and implement pipeline orchestration for drag-and-drop AI model workflows. Integrate foundational models (classification, detection, segmentation, enhancement) into modular pipelines. Build APIs to manage model training, deployment, and inference. Automate the process of pushing trained models into an inference engine. Frontend Development Develop an intuitive drag-and-drop web interface for building AI pipelines (similar to the attached prototype). Enable users to configure model parameters, connect modules, and monitor training progress. Display performance metrics (e.g., inference time, GPU utilization, throughput, ROI impact) in real time.
