Located in the Egyptian market city of Aswan, Aswan University first opened its doors as a branch of Assuit University in 1976. After becoming a part of the new South Valley University in 1995, Aswan University was established as an independent institution in its own right in 2012. The institution is dedicated to providing teaching in a wide range of subjects, including education, social work, engineering, agriculture and archaeology among many others. To this end, the university plays host to a wide range of high-quality facilities. The city of Aswan itself is one of the warmest in Egypt, and located along the world-famous river Nile. The city lies close to a number of famous archaeological sites that have provided a number of important artefacts of Ancient Egypt, as well as more modern historical sites such as mosques and Coptic churches. These sites include the Unfinished Obelisk, the Archangel Michael’s Coptic cathedral, and the monastery of St Simeon. The university works hard to ensure that students studying related subjects have access to these historical sites when possible. The university provides an integrated care programme for its students, intended to provide housing, study and recreational facilities to best suit their needs. These include a number of dedicated research facilities for the study of plants and animals, science labs and industrial centres, and a university-run information centre and communication network. Aswan University also plays host to a yearly sports festival and regularly competes against other universities in various events.

Applicants should have formal training or teaching experience in at least one of the following areas: biochemistry, pharmacology, physiology, histology, or anatomy (including gross anatomy or neuroanatomy). For anatomy focused candidates, experience in teaching human dissection is essential. Applicants should also hold a PhD in biomedical sciences or a related discipline and possess at least eight years of post-doctoral teaching experience in the higher education sector. The successful candidate should have a strong commitment to teaching excellence, an ability to contribute to curriculum development, and a proven record of effective engagement with students. S/he is expected to: demonstrate a proven track record of teaching excellence and education leadership; understand the landscape and challenges of higher education; have experience in programme management, curriculum and course design; show commitment to leading and participating in educational and professional development activities; strive for excellence in educating future health professionals; and be a strong team player with excellent communication skills. The appointee will work closely with the team on curriculum review, lead educational and pedagogical initiatives, and contribute to sharing good teaching practices and provide staff training. S/he will also be engaged in teaching undergraduate preclinical and biomedical sciences courses, student mentoring, course coordination, and other teaching-related administrative duties. Description NYU Abu Dhabi is currently inviting applications for a full-time contract faculty position in the Dvision of Arts and Humanities to teach in the Division and in the Interactive Media program to begin potentially as early as Fall 2026. The position is a renewable appointment based on curricular demand and performance. The Interactive Media program is a Bachelor of Arts major at NYUAD that combines art, interaction design, communications, computer science, engineering, and critique. While the program is formally housed in the University’s Arts and Humanities Division, it is a multidisciplinary major and has broad reach across the University. The mission of the program is to foster the creative use of emerging technologies for research, communication, and expression, while advancing a deep engagement with theoretical frameworks and critical discourse in Interactive Media. The program emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach that connects artistic practice with intellectual inquiry and social responsibility. Arts Professors are active practitioners and creative and performing artists who have demonstrated expertise, excellence and experience in their particular professional domains and bring these qualifications to bear in their teaching. Arts Professors are expected to conduct research, defined as scholarly, creative and professional activities, and are expected to bring that research to bear in their teaching, and to provide service to NYUAD. Appointees must be experienced or highly knowledgeable in their particular fields and, where relevant, have had experience in curriculum development. The successful candidate will have an expansive background in scholarship and the arts that prepares them to contribute to the divisions’ research initiative and propose a wide variety of courses to students in our established liberal arts undergraduate programs and Masters of Fine Arts, and upcoming “Global Crossroads” MA and Ph.D. programs. Applicants should hold the required terminal degrees, such as MFAs and Ph.Ds or those who have demonstrated a high-level creative output across theory/practice divides. The candidate should be able to teach about recent and impending development in artificial intelligence as it relates to the arts and humanities. They should have demonstrated abilities to teach across the arts and humanities and develop transdisciplinary research teams. We are looking for a faculty member who: Possesses an understanding of the aesthetic, cultural, social, political, critical, and ethical implications of interactive media and emerging technologies, and fosters an awareness of how these technologies shape and are shaped by societal contexts through historic and contemporary perspectives. Can engage students in developing a conceptual foundation for interactive media, integrating critical texts, reflective analysis, and creative practices that combine theoretical understanding with hands-on experimentation. Can engage students with a wide range of artists, scholars and practitioners whose work has shaped the field of interactive media fostering a nuanced understanding of its evolution and future directions Can support students in cultivating a critical vocabulary to articulate and analyze interactive media concepts, theories and projects, both in writing and discussion. Can engage students in creative practice, storytelling through various forms of media, designing rich user experiences, and exploring new modes of human-computer interactions. Has demonstrated experience in exhibiting works and/or presenting at festivals and conferences, with the ability to teach and support students in developing and showcasing their own work in similar professional contexts. The Interactive Media program is integrated into the NYUAD liberal arts experience and is interested in faculty who consider teaching an extension of their research. Inherent to the program’s values is an agility with regard to interactive media and its rapid evolution, and thus we welcome faculty who will contribute to the development of the curriculum, specifically in the area of AI. Applicants who can teach the following are encouraged to apply: Theoretical courses that explore concepts, questions, and components that encompass interactive media as it relates to creative expression and critical engagement. Foundation courses that survey various technologies including web development, sound, 2D and 3D design, XR, digital imaging, video, effects and animation, and digital fabrication. Description The Center of Astrophysics and Space Science, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to work with the Mars Research Group to support scientific investigations of the Martian atmosphere and surface using data from the Emirates Mars Mission (EMM) “Hope” probe. The position contributes to ongoing research, data analysis, simulation efforts, and dissemination of scientific results from Hope observations. The funding for this position is provided by the UAE Space Agency. The successful applicant will; Analyze Emirates Mars Mission (Hope) data: Conduct detailed analysis of atmospheric and surface observations collected by the UAE’s Hope probe to support scientific goals of understanding Martian atmospheric and surface processes. Assist with analysis of additional Mars mission datasets: Examine and interpret complementary data from other Mars missions to strengthen current models and provide comparative insights that enhance research conclusions from Hope observations. Develop Machine Learning methods and run numerical simulations on NYUAD’s High-Performance Computing (HPC) system. Support preparation of scientific manuscripts and presentations: Assist in drafting reports, papers, and conference materials to communicate research findings to the global scientific community. A candidate with a Master’s degree is preferred; however, the minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s degree in physics, computer science, or a related discipline. The role requires strong programming skills in Python, competency in data analysis and scientific computing, and the ability to work with large datasets. About EPrints Services As a result of our continued success, we are hiring into a Software Engineering / Customer Support role. We primarily develop and maintain Web-based repository services for a wide variety of both education and commercial organisations all over the World. At our core is an open source repository platform, EPrints, which provides a flexible way to configure operations concerning data capture, structure and presentation, and a range of services that allow content to be accessed in a variety of ways. We support our many customers by maintaining our own Linux based virtual hosting infrastructure. We are a well established small Enterprise team based in the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton. About You As part of the team, you will take responsibility for the development and support of customer focused projects, for both EPrints systems and more varied engineering activities. These typically relate to open access, open data, digital education, content management and systems integrations. All projects require some level of design, programming, testing, project management, and customer support. It is essential you have: Proven industrial experience and / or  PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Computer Science or related discipline. In addition, some knowledge of Linux as well as Web relevant technologies, for example XML, SQL, JavaScript and CSS is required. Experience in high level programming languages such as Python, PHP or Perl will be highly desirable. This role is offered on a full-time fixed term contract initially for two years. It is normal for us to extend contracts on a rolling two-year basis.
