Industry Engagement Collaborate with industry partners to co-create innovative products that enhance their portfolio and align with strategic business goals. Identify emerging trends and opportunities in Product Innovation to position SIT as a key partner in Design Thinking, New Product Development and Product innovation. Foster partnerships with businesses, government agencies, and other stakeholders to develop impactful projects that enhance environmental, social, and economic outcomes. Technical professionals who will work with local enterprises to frame projects, identify capabilities needed from the industry ecosystem, IHLs and centres. Involve in industry engagements, help to bring in higher value-added projects for the centres in SIT, Polytechnics and ITE. At least 5 years of relevant industry experience with a proven track record in production innovation and New Product Development. Deliver high-quality and professional ethics with passion for business development and managing customer relationships. Strong business acumen, project management experience and results-oriented with a strategic mindset. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills and able to adapt in a fast-paced business environment. Good experience in Product Management: Develop and implement strategies for integrating sustainability and energy efficiency into the product lifecycle, from conception to market launch. Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills. Experience in writing project proposals and grants will be an added advantage. Extensive experience and knowledge of industry practices to bring industry perspective to SIT. Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.

Novel Fibre Reinforced Polymer–Steel–Concrete Transition Structures for Offshore Wind Turbines (FRESCO) is a new research project funded by the Supergen Offshore Renewable Energy Hub. It aims to develop a novel glass fibre-reinforced polymer (GFRP)–steel–concrete tower-to-monopile transition structure for offshore wind turbines, with a focus on improving structural efficiency, durability, and ease of installation. Your work will include the development of advanced numerical models of the transition system, alongside the testing of a scaled prototype structure to demonstrate proof of concept. You will lead the technical activities related to modelling and experimental testing, including the design of test programmes and interpretation of results. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with the Principal Investigator (PI), co-PIs, research team and industry partners to ensure all project deliverables are met. Conduct insights-driven evaluations of existing QA/QC testing practices and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce redundant testing while maintaining compliance. Curate, standardize and integrate historical and statistical data to form the foundation of a structured database for construction QA/QC and traceability. Design and implement a digital chain-of-custody framework that captures assurance records including mill certificates, fabrication data, inspection results and carbon footprint information. Develop, train and validate AI models to automate QA/QC processes, enabling real-time verification, anomaly detection and consistency checks across records. Develop a cloud-based verification platform for digital data collection and real-time analytics. Develop and apply non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and data-driven approaches to determine material properties of reclaimed steel. Investigate geometric imperfections, accumulated deformations, and their impact on structural performance, particularly for compression members. Develop data-driven reusability assessment platforms integrating NDT data, machine learning models, and RFID-enabled traceability systems. Prepare and draft technical reports, conference/journal papers, and presentation materials; present research findings to internal reviews, industry partners and stakeholders. Engage with industry stakeholders throughout development, testing and refinement to ensure alignment with real-world requirements. Job Requirements Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Civil/Construction Engineering, Engineering Systems or equivalent. Strong foundation in data engineering, AI/ML development, and software systems (e.g., data pipelines, cloud services, dashboards, web-based application development). Experience in handling real-world datasets and model development/deployment workflows. Domain expertise in building construction/civil/structural engineering, including familiarity with building management systems, software integration, data collection and analysis. Knowledge of construction QA/QC and quality control workflows (e.g., inspection processes, test documentation, traceability and compliance records) is an advantage. Strong background in structural engineering, structural mechanics, or steel structures. Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques for structural materials is desirable.
