Andijan State University was founded in 1931 as the Ferghana Pedagogical Institute, becoming an Institute of Teachers in 1939 and then the Andijan Pedagogical Institute in 1953. When Uzbekistan gained independence in 1992, the institute became recognised as a university.
The university offers a range of programmes across its 11 faculties: philology, sciences, history, socio-economics, pedagogy, physics and mathematics, foreign languages, physical culture, arts, information technology and computer engineering and pre-school education.
There are over 55 fields of study for undergraduates and 26 fields for a master’s degree.
Andijan State University has partnerships with over 50 universities worldwide, and offers a range of international study exchanges for its students such as Erasmus+. Students can also do internship programs abroad, learning from and working with professionals in their field. The university also actively participates in the Fair of Innovative Ideas, Technologies and Projects regularly, helping partner students with employers and workplaces.
The campus is located in the city of Andijan, located in eastern Uzbekistan in the Ferghana Valley.
