Founded in 1955, Andijan State Medical Institute was the only higher education institution in Fergana Valley, Central Asia. The university is located in Andijan, a city in eastern Uzbekistan. The university is organised into four faculties: faculty of medicine, paediatric faculty, dental faculty, and the faculty of advance training and retraining of physicians. Each faculty consists of different departments, which offer a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes. The university has developed partnerships with other higher education institutions across the globe such as the Samyuk Medical Centre in Korea and the University of Pisa in Italy. These partnerships enable the university to participate in joint research projects, as well as academic and scientific exchanges. As a member of the Erasmus International Programme, the university offers its students the opportunity to study abroad at one of its partner institutions for one or two semesters.

Building on past projects, it focuses on designing durable systems, using advanced controls to adapt to wear and tear, and supporting a circular supply chain. With Operations & Maintenance (O&M) making up 30% of costs, INFINITY emphasizes reliability and predictive maintenance to extend service intervals from 2 to 5 years and cut costs by 50%. These innovations aim to overcome barriers to wave energy adoption, making it more practical, cost-effective, and a viable renewable energy source. The project team is composed of leading academic and industry collaborators from: RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, Ocean Harvesting Technologies, Politecnico di Torino, The Technical University Denmark etc. This project is funded through the EU’s Clean Energy Transition Partnership with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, and the successful candidate will join a group of around 30 postdoctoral, PhD and other researchers in COER, who work on the development of wave energy technology, with projects funded from various national and international sources. COER has a wide range of eminent industrial and academic collaborators. Salary Scale: Post Doctoral Researcher (2026): €46,805 - €53,391 p.a. Full time, 3 years fixed term, located on the Camperdown Campus at the School of Physics Opportunity to contribute to research focused on fast radio bursts and long-period radio transients using the ASKAP and MeerKAT radio telescopes Base Salary, level A/B $113,400 - $151,328 p.a + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The School of Physics is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow in Radio Astronomy to join the radio transients group working on fast radio bursts and long-period radio transients with Dr. Manisha Caleb. The successful candidate will contribute to an ARC-funded Discovery Project investigating the origins and evolution of transient radio sources using data from the Australian SKA Pathfinder and MeerKAT radio facilities. The role offers opportunities to develop search algorithms, undertake multi-wavelength follow-up studies, and contribute to high-impact discoveries in time-domain astrophysics. The successful candidate will also collaborate closely with Prof. Adam Deller, Prof. Jarrod Hurley at Swinburne University of Technology and Prof. Ben Stappers at The University of Manchester. As such, we see the importance of recruiting talent aligned to these values and are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow in Radio Astronomy who has: Essential: a PhD in astronomy and astrophysics or a closely related discipline research experience in radio astronomy imaging and time-domain astrophysics, including fast radio bursts, long-period radio transients, pulsars, or neutron stars experience working with large datasets, high-performance computing, and/or signal processing techniques expertise in scientific programming and data analysis using Python or similar languages a strong publication record relative to career stage and the ability to work effectively in collaborative research teams demonstrated ability to present research results at conferences, workshops, and research institutions for appointment at level B: demonstrated ability to independently plan, lead, execute and publish high impact papers over a sustained period since the conclusion of the PhD. Desirable: experience in multi-wavelength data analyses for appointment at level B: experience contributing to student supervision and the development of early-career researchers. This is a 50/50 position. Half the time will be devoted to the appointee’s own philosophical research on AI. The other half will be devoted to editorial and management work for the journal, in collaboration with the journal’s editors in Hong Kong, the Netherlands, and Germany. Editorial and management responsibilities include coordinating the peer‑review process; communicating with authors and referees; assisting with special issues and symposia; maintaining the journal’s editorial workflow; and contributing to the journal’s strategic development. The appointee will work under the supervision of Professor Herman Cappelen (HKU) and in close coordination with the journal’s other editors, Guido Löhr (VU Amsterdam) and Vincent C. Müller (FAU Erlangen‑Nürnberg). On the research side, the appointee will pursue an independent research programme in the philosophy of AI and participate in the activities of the AI & Humanity Lab, including seminars, workshops, and lab events. Applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in philosophy or a closely related field by the time of appointment and must be based in Hong Kong. The position is open to candidates working in philosophy of AI or a neighbouring area (e.g., philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, epistemology, ethics of AI, or philosophy of technology).
