Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President (Academic), the Dean of Music provides visionary leadership, forges strategic external relations, and oversees the School's academic, operational, and financial functions to cultivate the highest possible standards in music education, research, performance, and outreach. Leading and collaborating with the faculty and staff of the School of Music, and aligned with the University’s mission, vision, and strategic plan, the Dean will successfully manage the financial, administrative, technical, and human resources of the School. As a champion for music who is committed to the success and development of students, faculty, and staff, the Dean will work collaboratively with other programs, institutions, arts organizations, and community partners to further enhance the stature and resources of the School.

The successful candidate for Dean of Music excels in their chosen musical career as evidenced by their record of scholarship/research/performance, is able to demonstrate student-centered teaching in a university environment and has a record of leading cooperative initiatives or projects in a unionized environment. The candidate will build on the School’s strengths, promote its achievements, and facilitate education, research, and community engagement initiatives. The Student Transition and Outcomes Department works to address the sector-wide and institutional factors and barriers that contribute to lower rates of attainment, continuation and progression for students at King’s. We are part of the Students & Education Directorate, a collection of wide-ranging professional services in place to support King’s students and their education. About the role:

The Personal Tutoring Senior Officer plays a central role in ensuring King’s delivers a consistent, high-quality, and inclusive personal tutoring experience for all students. The postholder provides expert coordination, communication, and training to help staff understand their responsibilities and feel confident in offering effective pastoral support to our diverse student body.

This role is particularly important as King’s strengthens its personal tutoring infrastructure through new policies, digital tools, and improved processes. The Personal Tutoring Senior Officer develops clear guidance, resources, and training, coordinates faculty reporting, and ensures smooth, consistent communication across the University’s tutoring network.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to deepen their understanding of the student experience and develop skills in stakeholder management, communication, and training design. Working collaboratively across faculties and professional services, the Personal Tutoring Senior Officer helps enhance operational consistency and supports the delivery of King’s Vision 2029 by promoting student success, inclusion, and staff capability.

Solent University Southampton – a Triple TEF Gold institution – is home to a dynamic and growing Law School ranked 6th in the UK in the Guardian League Table (2026). Rooted in the Solent 2035 principles of practice-led learning, industry connectivity and civic engagement, the Solent Law School is recognised for its innovative approach to legal education and its commitment to widening access to justice across the Central South.

We are seeking a highly motivated and professionally experienced Senior Lecturer in Law to contribute to the development and delivery of our Clinical Legal Education (CLE) portfolio. This includes a contribution to the Solent Law Clinic, which currently provides vital support to members of our local community, and to the expansion of future service areas aligned with regional needs.

We are particularly interested in candidates that demonstrate agility through their ability to deliver across modules relating to the Foundations of Legal Knowledge. Working closely with colleagues, students, and our extensive network of law firms, chambers, public bodies, and alumni, the successful candidate will design and deliver authentic, client-focused learning experiences. You will also support practical legal skills development through the Solent Moot Court, pro bono initiatives, student-employer engagement activities, and other opportunities that strengthen employability and professional formation.

We welcome applications from individuals with significant experience in legal practice and/or the leadership of a law clinic or similar CLE environment, who can help shape the next phase of our civic-led legal education offer. Specific expertise in one or more of the following areas would be preferable:

The successful candidate will have a PhD (or be close to completion) or a relevant professional legal qualification with demonstrable experience in Higher Education and/or legal practice. The successful candidate will:


	Conduct original research of international excellence.
	Design innovative and scalable synthesis process for Fluorine- and Phosphorus- based Cathode Materials
	Understanding of the electrochemical process upon electrochemical cycling on Lithium-ion Batteries
	Characterizations of developed Energy Materials
	Support equipment procurement and effectively coordinate with international suppliers.
	Prepare publications for leading journals and present findings at national and international conferences, workshops, and meetings.
	Communicate research developments, progress, and results to the research team.
	Identify areas for improvement within the research framework using integrated management approaches to enhance capacity building, maintain scientific rigor, and strengthen research studies.
	Support the development of research funding proposals, as needed.
	Assist in supervising M.Sc. and Ph.D. students, guiding their research work.


Candidate Profile

Given the multidisciplinary nature of ACER, the ideal candidate should have a broad scientific background, including:


	A Ph.D. in Materials Science, Materials Chemistry, Electrochemical process, Chemical Processes, or a related engineering discipline.
	A strong background in electrochemical analysis of battery materials
	Proficiency in elemental and structural analysis using various techniques.
	Knowledge of advanced structural characterizations (highly valued).
	Expertise in electrochemistry (including cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge–discharge, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy), electrode preparation, and aging tests (long-term cycling stability).
	Familiarity with risk assessment and safe working procedures in a chemical laboratory.
	Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English.
	A proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
	The ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary, multicultural team.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Midwifery teaching team at King’s College London teaching students on our innovative pre-registration BSc (Hons), MSc and CPD programmes and modules. The Department of Midwifery comprises staff who are actively engaged in education, research, and service development across a range of areas relevant to the field. We have a diverse team of clinical teachers, teaching fellows, lecturers, senior lecturers, and an internationally renowned professor.

Committed to teamwork with excellent communication skills you will be passionate about midwifery and education, demonstrating an ability to inspire the next generation of midwives. Academic citizenship through academic related activities that underpin excellence in education will be an expectation of the role as well as the promotion of education research conducted within the Department and Faculty.

Educated to Master's level you will need to be a registered midwife on the appropriate part of the NMC professional register with significant experience within midwifery, including the teaching of pre-registration students. 

Appointment to the higher grade will be dependent on significant experience in curriculum design and delivery, as well as doctorate or demonstrable equivalence in professional experience and status.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 30/08/2028.

Location: Hybrid – minimum of 2 days primarily on Waterloo or Guys campus dependant on teaching commitments.
