Job Description DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE Research Assistant Professor in Computer Science (3 vacancies) (23240021) The Department presently offers BSc, MSc, MPhil, and PhD programmes, and is now seeking outstanding applicants for the following positions. The positions are created and funded as part of the strategic research development initiatives in the Department. The appointees will be provided with a conducive research environment, and will work within an established group of faculty in the Department. They are also expected to perform group-based high-impact research and undertake some teaching duties. Applicants should possess a PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, and sufficiently demonstrate abilities to conduct high-quality research in one of the Department's key research areas: (i) Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning; (ii) Big Data and Data Management; (iii) Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition; and (iv) Distributed Systems and Networking. Job Description FACULTY OF SCIENCE DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS The Department has focus research areas in (a) Advanced Materials & Energy and (b) Biophysics & Complex Systems. Interdisciplinary research is actively promoted by the Faculty of Science, fostered under the University-wide six Interdisciplinary Labs (https://interdisciplinary-research.hkbu.edu.hk/), and supported by state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities, such as the Life Science Imaging Centre (https://research.hkbu.edu.hk/resources/facilities-and-labs/hkbu-life-science-imaging-centre). SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION CONTINUING AND PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION DIVISION (CPED) The School of Continuing Education, one of the eight Faculties/Schools of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults.  It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands.  Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 500 part-time instructors.  The School is now looking for individuals with qualifications and experience to join its Continuing and Professional Education Division. Lecturer I/II in Artificial Intelligence & Business Intelligence (24250169) AI for Business and Financial Markets Big Data and Business Analytics  FinTech Strategy  The appointee is required to (i) perform teaching duties in related disciplines; (ii) provide academic guidance to students; (iii) develop and manage programme; (iv) supervise projects; (v) coordinate with the part-time teaching staff; and (vi) assist in administrative work for the responsible programmes/courses such as promotion, admission interview, handling students’ enquiries and organising student activities. Applicants should possess a higher degree, preferably a doctoral degree in Information Technology, Data Science, or Business Analytics, along with relevant teaching experience and industry expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence, or FinTech.  Applicants must show dedication and strong commitment in teaching and education within and beyond the classroom.
