About Ambrose University

Ambrose University is a private Christian liberal arts university located in Calgary, Alberta. It is committed to the integrating Christian faith with academic disciplines.

It has its origins in a number of educational institutions which began in the second half of the 20th century and was formerly known as the Ambrose University College.

Ambrose University, in its current form, was established in 2007, when Alliance University College and Nazarene University College joined together to provide new and stronger academic programming to the wider public.

In addition to training leaders for ministry with programmes in theology and biblical studies, Ambrose University offers accredited degrees in arts and science, education and business.

In 2008, Ambrose moved to a 40-acre campus in southwest Calgary with capacity to accommodate 1,000 students. The campus features an academic centre, residence, library, gymnasium, and residence and education centre. It also has one of the largest private academic libraries in western Canada.

The university also competes in a number of varsity athletics sports, including volleyball, basketball, and futsal.
