Established in 1974, The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is a university based in Islamabad, Pakistan. The main objective of the university is to provide education to those who cannot leave their homes or jobs to attend a traditional, private university. More than 70 per cent of students enrolled are working and there is no age limit for enrolment in university programmes. The AIOU, when established, was the second Open University in the world and the first in Asia. Since then, it has opened up educational opportunities especially for women, who make up the majority of those enrolled. It’s also a lot cheaper for students to attend than a traditional higher education institution. The university has 44 regional campuses and centres throughout Pakistan, and it has the most applicants per year of any university in the country. The AIOU offers a wide range of programmes at both undergraduate and graduate level, including: Arabic and Islamic studies, education, sciences and social sciences and humanities. The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has libraries in its 49 regional campuses across Pakistan, however the Central Library is the focal point of these libraries. The Central Library has state-of-the-art systems and has over 137,000 books on a variety of subjects. There are also study and research rooms, with over 80 internet-connected computers, numerous study cubicles and a number of reading areas.

Based within the Disability & Dyslexia Team in Student Services, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of advice and guidance to students, professional services and academic colleagues. You will also be responsible for arranging and coordinating support for disabled students. Key responsibilities: To provide comprehensive advice, support and guidance to students and applicants with disabilities/neurodivergent conditions and to liaise with staff and other agencies to secure the support that students require. The Aerosol Physics and Environmental Physics (AEP) Group at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Vienna combines highly-sophisticated laboratory, ground-based and aircraft experiments with innovative modelling to study the fundamental physical and chemical properties of aerosol particles and clouds. Current research focuses on related but different areas of aerosol science and covers the whole size spectrum from the nano- to the microscale. We are looking for a motivated Senior Scientist to extend our team.  The position is limited to the duration of an employee's absence due to parental part-time employment (July 2027). If the employee is not returning full time, the position can be extended by mutual agreement. Your future tasks: You will be involved in unique ground-based and airborne research projects in collaboration with top scientific institutions such as NASA and NOAA as well as large-scale aircraft measurement campaigns (e. g. SABRE, INSPYRE, and others). You will be in the field for large-scale aircraft measurement campaigns including SABRE, INSPYRE, and others (typically several weeks per year). Your research will focus on airborne in-situ observations of coarse mode aerosols and clouds. You will contribute to the organization and implementation of ground-based and airborne field campaigns. You will develop novel methods e.g. for the calibration of in-situ aerosol cloud probes including a droplet generator, and analyze data from airborne and ground-based field experiments. You will independently teach courses as defined by the collective agreement, and contribute to the (co-) supervision of students. You will contribute to the success and self-organization of the group for research, help with some administrative tasks and participate in evaluation measures and quality assurance. You will contribute to outreach by international publications, conference presentations and public activities.
