This role is a balanced teaching and research role. It involves contributing to high-quality teaching through the preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars, conducting tutorials and workshops, subject coordination responsibilities, and developing engaging subject material, as well as the pursuit of a high quality academic research program including peer-reviewed publications and external grant acquisition. The successful candidate will also support the ongoing enhancement of course content in collaboration with senior academic staff. In addition, the role includes supervising honours and postgraduate coursework and research students, marking and assessment, and providing regular consultation and academic support to students. The Lecturer will contribute to research and professional activity within the discipline, engage in curriculum development, and participate in the administrative and collegial life of the School, including meetings, committees, and other duties as required. As the successful candidate, you will hold a doctoral qualification in Political Science, International Relations, Public Administration, or a relevant related discipline and bring a strong record of achievement in research, including a demonstrated track record of refereed publications. The research area is open, but candidates with expertise in comparative politics, political institutions, gender and politics, and environmental politics are particularly encouraged to apply. You will have well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively across academic and service environments. You will demonstrate strong tertiary teaching experience, with the ability to motivate, engage and educate diverse student cohorts. You will also bring experience in curriculum and subject development, especially the willingness and ability to teach large introductory classes in political science, alongside a commitment to ongoing scholarly activity and research excellence. A proven ability to work cooperatively with students, colleagues and external partners, and a collegiate approach to working within a team environment, will be essential. Description The Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi is inviting applicants for a Junior Research Scientist in the area of experimental astro-particle physics and applications. The applicant will work in the domain of particle and radiation detectors (organic and inorganic scintillators, photomultipliers and silicon photomultipliers, silicon drift detectors, etc.) applied to various domains: direct dark matter search with dielectric haloscopes, gamma ray spectroscopy, and space-based applications. The applicant may be involved in several projects, including the development and simulation of detectors for Lunar X-ray spectroscopy, in the framework of an extremely dynamic and stimulating research group. It is expected that the applicant will also contribute to the general management of the laboratory and its equipment. Previous members of this group are now pursuing research and academic careers internationally. Applicants must have a Bachelors in Physics. Knowledge and experience in the design and development of particle detectors, including simulation tools such as GEANT4 is preferred, as well as enthusiasm to learn new techniques and to work and interact within a very diverse environment. Experience and interest in rare-event searches (e.g., axion and dark matter detection) and in applying radiation detection techniques to non-standard domains is preferred. B1 lit. b (postdoc) Reference no.: 5781 The new Core Facility NexusSoSci is being established at the Faculty of Social Sciences. NexusSoSci provides the infrastructural and technical foundations for a central service and competence center for social science research. It brings together qualitative and quantitative methodological expertise in data collection, data preparation, and data analysis. Senior scientists and the coordinator play a key role in developing the digital, material, and spatial infrastructures that supports research projects, training, and networking activities. The positions will initially be based at the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Social Sciences and may be transferred to a subunit following a positive evaluation. We intend to fill the position of Senior Scientist for the Register Data Lab from 01 July 2026 onwards, but latest by 15 October 2026. Your personal sphere of play: The Register Data Lab within NexusSoSci, creates the infrastructural, methodological and technical foundations for the use of Austrian register data in social science research. Its aim is to build a central scientific service and competence centre for register-based social research. The Senior Scientist will make a substantial contribution to this objective through (1) the development of standardised data modules, (2) scientific consulting in the planning of research projects, and (3) training and networking activities. Description The Center for Sand Hazards and Opportunities in Resilience, Energy, and Sustainability (SHORES) and the Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seek to recruit a Post-doctoral Associate to work on a fascinating project focused on the development machine-learning powered digital twin system for the structural performance of civil engineering structures. The project is a collaboration between multiple research groups led primarily by Professor Tarek Abdoun and Professor Mostafa Mobasher. It involves a diverse range of activities including: structural and geotechnical modeling, machine-learning model development, structural sensing and health monitoring, conducting physical experiments, and validation of computational models. Required Qualifications: A successful applicant must have a PhD in Civil Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or Mechanical Engineering with no more than five years post receipt of the PhD.
