Supervise students in hands-on experimental research, including developing innovative optical systems. Teaching  Responsibilities: Introduction to Photonics: Principles of light, electromagnetic waves, and basic photonic materials. Advanced Photonics and Materials: Study of photonic materials, optical properties, and their applications in photonics devices. Photonics Lab: Hands-on experience in optical systems design, characterization of photonic materials, and experiments on light-matter interactions. Optical Instrumentation: Practical courses on designing and testing optical sensors and detection systems. Requirements: PhD in Photonics, Optical Physics, or a related field. Expertise in optical detection systems and experience in experimental photonics. Familiarity with advanced material characterization techniques in photonics and optical measurement systems. Teaching Skills: Ability to teach at various levels (undergraduate, graduate, doctoral) and use modern pedagogical methods. Research Skills: Ability to conduct high-impact and independent research and contribute to collaborative projects. Job description: The Applied Chemistry and Research Engineering (ACER) program at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Assistant Professor specializing in Fluid Mechanics, Heat and Mass Transfer, and Chemical Engineering. The selected candidate will lead cutting-edge research in process intensification, reactor modeling, and sustainable energy systems, with a strong emphasis on computational fluid dynamics (CFD), all separation and Conversion processes , particularly adsorption-based processes, heterogenous catalysis and energy conversion technologies. The candidate must demonstrate strong publication and as well proven teaching capabilities in chemical process engineering. The ideal candidate should demonstrate expertise in at least one of the areas below, experience/expertise in multiple areas is an asset: Experience in both process modeling/design and experimental research. Fluid mechanics and transport phenomena Separation and Catalysis Adsorption/absorption processes, process design, and chemical reaction engineering Heat and mass transfer, and thermodynamics Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) using tools such as COMSOL, ANSYS Fluent, or similar Programming skills (e.g., Fortran, MATLAB, or equivalent) Demonstrated expertise in both experimental and numerical simulation approaches applied to separation processes. Key Duties and Responsibilities Successful candidates are expected to: Lead cutting-edge research projects focused on multiphase flow reactors, adsorption, chemical engineer and energy systems Develop and implement innovative methodologies for chemical reactor design, simulation, and optimization Conduct both modeling and experimental oriented research Conduct CFD modeling and experimental validation for energy and adsorption systems Secure research funding through grants and industrial partnerships Supervise and mentor graduate students, PhD candidates, and junior researchers Disseminate research results through peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and industrial collaborations Develop and teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, chemical reaction engineering, transport phenomena, and Computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Contribute to the strategic planning and research direction of the applied chemistry and engineering research centre (ACER CoE) and the college of chemical sciences and engineering (CCSE) Publish impactful research findings in high impact peer-reviewed journals.
