Al-Razi University, in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa, was founded in 2009 as Al-Razi College for Medical Sciences.
It was renamed in 2013, to reflect its expanded curriculum. Its 2,400 students now study 28 degrees across four faculties: medical sciences; computer and information technology; human and administrative sciences; and higher studies (this last one covers business administration, intensive care and epidemiology).
Since 2017, the university has published the Al-Razi University Journal of Medical Sciences, a biannual peer-reviewed journal, blending scientific and technical articles.
Al-Razi University does not offer on-campus student accommodation; instead, students tend to live either in nearby independent student hostels or in flatshares.
A student activities’ committee organises cultural and recreational trips for students.
