Job Description FACULTY OF ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES OFFICE OF DEAN OF ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES Senior Research Assistant / Research Assistant (25260534) The Office of Dean of Arts and Social Sciences would like to seek proactive and self-driven applicants for the position of Senior Research Assistant or Research Assistant to support research projects that encompass ethnic minorities, older adults, and students in Hong Kong. Responsibilities: Assist in data collection and management of ongoing research projects, including conducting surveys, interviews, and focus groups with students and stakeholders; Conduct literature reviews and contribute to data analysis, including statistical analysis using SPSS; Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to support project planning, implementation and evaluation; Liaise with schools, NGOs, community organisations, and other stakeholders to facilitate cross-sector collaboration; Engage with South Asian community members to ensure culturally sensitive and effective project delivery; Perform administrative and project management tasks as required; and  Undertake other duties as assigned by the Dean or his delegates. Requirements: A bachelor’s degree or above in Social Sciences, Education, Psychology, Sociology or a related field; Ability to work both independently and as an effective team player; Strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail; Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; proficiency in South Asian languages (e.g., Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Punjabi) is an advantage; Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with SPSS (data management and analysis) and Endnote (reference management); and Experience in project coordination, community engagement, or working with ethnically diverse populations is highly desirable. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and funding availability. Key Responsibilities Develop, deliver, and regularly update content relevant to their specialty across the curriculum of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) programme, from pre-clinical courses to clinical rotations, as well as in postgraduate programmes. The successful candidate will be expected to engage students through innovative teaching methods, fostering critical thinking, clinical reasoning, professional values and ethical practice. Provide clinical education leadership, overseeing curriculum design and delivery, student assessment and continuous quality improvement, and provide mentorship to junior members of the clinical education team. Provide mentorship and guidance to students, including advising on research projects, theses, and career development. Conduct high-impact research in Rheumatology, securing external funding to establish and sustain these programmes. Disseminate findings through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences. Serve on Departmental and School committees and assist with strategic planning and development. Advance the School’s mission by leading community outreach initiatives, holding leadership roles in relevant professional societies, and building strategic partnerships with healthcare and regulatory organisations.
