Al-Mansour University College was established in 1988 in Baghdad as one of Iraq’s first private higher education institutions. Founded by the Iraqi Association for Libraries and Information, the college began academic operations on 1 October, 1988, and has since developed into a leading institution known for its focus on applied sciences, engineering, and information technology.
The university college is located in the central Al-Karradah district of Baghdad, near Andalus Square, and features four academic buildings with over 80 lecture halls, more than 50 specialised labs, a central library, seminar spaces, and landscaped courtyards.
There is a wide range of programmes on offer at the university college, each designed to meet the demands of Iraq’s labour market by combining theoretical knowledge with practical training and international certification pathways. These programmes are offered across a number of departments including computer science, information systems, civil engineering, communications engineering, medical instrumentation engineering, business administration, accounting, English, law, physical therapy, and digital media.
The university college also supports professional development and digital skills through authorised partnerships with global platforms such as Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle, and VMware. It is a recognised testing centre for international exams including TOEFL, GRE, and Pearson VUE.
Research plays an important role in the university college, with a growing number of publications and an active schedule of conferences and workshops. Through its academic journal and faculty-led projects, the college contributes to Iraq’s broader scientific community.
