Al-Kitab University was founded in 2012.
Al-Kitab University started with three scientific departments: computer engineering, law and financial sciences and banking.
There are now nine faculties: dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, engineering, medical techniques, engineering techniques, finance and administrative science, education, and law.
Al-Kitab University is located in a beautiful and quiet rural area called Altun Kupri, which is located between the two North cities of Erbil and Kirkuk. There are also dormitories for both males and female students.
To help students secure jobs post graduation, Al-Kitab University holds a job fair, which students are encouraged to attend.
There’s lots of activities for students to get involved in on campus including folklore and music shows, art galleries, seminars, student soirees, and youth camps.
In addition, there’s a sports hub.

Mirico is an innovative precision gas measurement company based in Oxfordshire, leveraging unique technology originally developed by RALSpace. We provide state-of-the-art laser spectroscopy solutions to accurately quantify and localise greenhouse gas emissions over large open areas enabling organisations to achieve their net-zero climate goals. Our sensor products generate large volumes of data as they scan the environment for emissions 24 hours-per-day, 7 days a week. The measurements are processed on-board the instrument before transmission to our cloud analysis platform which leverages custom atmospheric modelling, transforming raw measurements into detailed emissions information. Mirico believes the first step to reducing greenhouse gas emissions is to quantify them. We are working with a range of research and commercial organisations to prove, develop and perfect our technologies. We are a small, fast-paced team integrating unique hardware and software in a friendly, collaborative environment. The KTP Project The KTP Associate will lead a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project that is a collaboration between Durham University and MIRICO, based in Oxfordshire. The Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme helps businesses to innovate and grow through the aid of discipline specific academic expertise. It does this by linking them with an academic supervisory team and a KTP Associate in a university to work on a specific project. Working alongside the Digital Team at MIRICO, the Algorithm developer will develop a new algorithm to enhance the localisation and quantification of gas emissions. This will involve leveraging advanced gas transport models, including advection-diffusion equations, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and Navier-Stokes equations, to provide deeper insights into emission sources and dispersion patterns. Successful applicants will need to be in post before 01/03/2026, with an earlier start date possible. Responsible to: Willmore Fellow, Department of Mathematical Sciences, Durham University. Space Missions Ground Station Engineer

Surrey Space Centre (SSC) is a leading force in space engineering research and education. We are looking to recruit a Space Mission Ground Station Engineer to work with the SSC Director and the Centre’s academics to complete a comprehensive upgrade to SSC’s satellite ground-station facility (hardware and software) taking it to state-of-the-art capability. In addition to SSC’s missions, which include the next generation of CubeSats and lunar projects, we also provide mission support for other parts of the University and third parties. This role will be a great opportunity for the right person to work with SSC’s engineers and academics to deliver a leading-edge ground support facility. We are looking for someone who already has a good understanding of the principles of satellite telemetry, telecommand and tracking who is able to make a significant engineering contribution to upgrading the SSC Ground Station’s hardware and software. Additional desirable attributes are: Knowledge and experience of satellite communications, ground stations or similar systems Good practical working knowledge of relevant software tools (e.g.Linux, python, C/C++ & html programming and PC computer networking) Experience of CubeSat mission operations covering mission development from concept to detailed design of the satellite. Experience of radio systems and satellite communications systems.
