University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit an Assistant, Timetabling & Operations in Academic Services Office Your Responsibility The Assistant, Timetabling & Operations will support the Timetabling & Operations team in the Academic Services Office mainly for timetabling and exams support, teaching & learning development and curriculum management. Your key responsibilities include: Timetabling Tasks: Schedule teaching timetables and manage the entire process from timetable data collection to timetable publication. Maintain student enrolment and teaching timetable records across all timetable-related systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Participate in the testing of the Tri-campus Timetabling system. Handle general student timetable enquiries efficiently and provide timely and effective resolutions. Coordinate Government Awards Applications: Work as contact point for Local Government Teaching & Learning Awards applications, liaising with Municipal/Provincial/National Department to facilitate communication, and providing support to develop TL related reports and data analysis to inform decisions. Curriculum Management Tasks: Support to the curriculum (programmes/modules) management tasks including documentation preparation, annual curriculum update, and data maintenance in the Campus Solutions system. Examination Tasks: Support the scheduling of University examination timetables and invigilation arrangements. Respond to and resolve examination-related emergencies during exam periods. Provide administrative and operational support for other national examinations, and handle general student enquiries. Other: Work with other function units within the Office at key points of the academic year (e.g. Graduation, Registration, conference) to ensure a 'fit for purpose' administrative support service to all areas of the Office's work and responsibilities; Participate in training and staff development, as trainer or trainee as appropriate. Maintain a proactive and flexible approach. Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required. An exciting opportunity is available for a talented qualitative researcher to join a successful team in the Primary Care Research Centre to conduct qualitative research and intervention planning for a primary care practitioner intervention to support autistic/ADHD/AuDHD adults with mental health problems The post is available under the supervision of Dr Hannah Bowers in close collaboration with the wider MINDS study team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for conducting qualitative interviews with primary care practitioners, analysing qualitative data and conducting stakeholder and lived experience workshops. The role will also include planning an intervention using the Person-Based Approach. There will be opportunities to contribute to other elements of the research subject to capacity and competencies. Applicants will have experience of conducting qualitative research. You will also have experience of working collaboratively with diverse teams. Successful applicants will have demonstrated their ability to work independently and efficiently in a research context and will have excellent written English skills with meticulous attention to detail. Your knowledge and experience will usually have been gained through a relevant PhD, but may also have been achieved via other research experience, normally supported by a relevant postgraduate degree. The post is fixed term until 30/04/2027 and will be offered at 0.8 FTE from September 2026. Other FTEs will be considered on a case-by-case basis. A Standard Level DBS is required for this role. We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join the Micro and Quantum Systems (MQS) research group in the Department of Electronics and Nanoengineering at Aalto University. MQS currently comprises more than 18 members and is expanding. We are advancing foundational topics in quantum computing and their practical applications. In this position, you will work at the intersection of quantum computing, computational biology, genomics, and materials science. You will have the opportunity to delve deeply into quantum computing and contribute to high-quality research with real-world impact. Join us in shaping the future! Your role and goals  Your primary task as a postdoctoral researcher is to conduct research in quantum algorithms and quantum information. You are expected to take an active role in advancing the MQS group’s research projects. Our recent work has focused on the theory and applications of quantum walk algorithms, variational quantum algorithms and their optimization, adiabatic quantum computation, and quantum machine learning. Theoretical and applied research into the capabilities of quantum computing and quantum advantage is a prospective topic across four application domains: bioinformatics, breeding, biomaterial synthesis, and cellulose‑processing enzyme design. You will develop hybrid quantum‑classical algorithms to tackle domain‑specific, computationally demanding problems. Methods will be designed for near‑term (NISQ‑era) deployment, with models evaluated for expressivity, training stability, scalability, and resource requirements on representative problem sizes, and systematically benchmarked against fully classical baselines. In parallel, medium‑ to long‑term quantum algorithms will be explored to assess quantum readiness and to establish innovative methodologies relevant to each application field. The exact research topics can be tailored to your interests within the scope of our current projects. Your goal is to produce world‑class research results, in collaboration with other group members in the lively environment of the MQS group, and to publish them in high‑impact journals. In addition to research, you will also be expected to take part in the supervision of PhD students and the teaching activities of the research group. Your network and team Currently, our research group consists of 1 professor, 1 lecturer, 1 staff scientist, 2 postdocs and 5 PhD students, and several undergraduate research collaborators. The group is led by Professor Ilkka Tittonen.
