The Green Tech Institute at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), Benguerir, Morocco, is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team in exploring the intersection of energy transition, circular economy, and sustainable construction production. This position aims to advance innovative solutions that promote sustainability in the built environment, focusing on the effective integration of renewable energy, resource efficiency, and waste reduction. The candidate must hold a PhD in Urban or Rural Development, Civil Engineering or related domain. The candidate is expected to have hands-on experience in field related to urban or rural planning, renewable energy and sustainable construction. Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our cutting-edge team, working on the development of advanced AI/ML algorithms for battery management systems (BMS) in electric mobility and micro mobility applications. The primary focus will be on creating and optimizing state-of-charge (SOC) and state-of-health (SOH) prediction models to ensure the safety, efficiency, and longevity of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement machine learning algorithms for SOC and SOH estimation. Analyze large datasets from battery systems to improve model accuracy and performance. Conduct research on predictive analytics for real-time battery health monitoring and fault detection. Collaborate with embedded systems and hardware engineering teams to integrate AI models into the BMS. Optimize AI/ML pipelines for resource-constrained environments, including edge AI applications. Postdoctoral Fellowship in Development and Characterization of Organic Membranes for Applications in Electrodialysis and Capacitive Deionization Systems The CBS department of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is launching a call for applications for a postdoctoral fellow with expertise in laboratory or pilot scale membrane fabrication and characterization, as well as in the characterization of the physical, chemical, and separation properties of membranes. In-depth knowledge of the properties of materials used in membrane manufacturing, including the selection of appropriate materials based on performance requirements is required. The postdoctoral fellow will join the CBS-IGSAC department where he will be responsible for participating in the conduct of a research program on the valorization of phosphate by-products and its derivatives in order to develop and carry out studies on membrane techniques allowing the separation, concentration, recovery or destruction of certain elements. Thus, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the realization of a wide range of scale-up studies of a membrane manufacturing process to validate the selection of the appropriate design to desalinate brackish water and/or seawater. These derivatives play a crucial role in various industrial applications, including fine chemistry, catalysis, agriculture, and life science. For instance, phosphorus-based chemicals are essential in hydrometallurgy, ceramics, and serve as building blocks for RNA and DNA. Additionally, their synthetic analogues are critical clinical drugs for treating a wide range of diseases, including hepatitis C virus and Covid-19. Expertise in coordination chemistry and/or process developement would be a plus for this position. Responsibilities: As a Post-Doctoral Researcher, your responsibilities will include: Green Synthetic Methods: Conducting research to establish innovative and environmentally friendly synthetic methodologies for accessing a diverse range of phosphorus derivatives. This will involve the creation of phosphorus–carbon bonds using techniques such as photochemical reactions, mechanochemistry, multi-component reactions, atoms and steps economy, and both homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis.
