Agusan del Sur State University is a public higher education institution located in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, Philippines. It traces its origins back to 1908, when it was established as the Manobo Industrial School, before evolving through several institutional phases and becoming Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology in 1995.
Located along the Agusan Davao National Highway in a rural area of Mindanao, the university occupies a large campus that supports agricultural, technical and academic activities. Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)    initiate, lead and participate in scholarly research in his/her areas of expertise and be active in research leading to quality journal publications and in bidding for external research grants and applied research projects;

(b)    conduct research in satellite and space engineering and contribute to the development of the Department’s research strengths;

(c)    supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and theses;

(d)    undertake teaching duties at various levels in the area of satellite and space engineering;

(e)    engage in programme/curriculum planning, development and administration;

(f)     undertake relevant administrative duties; and

(g)    perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a)    a PhD degree in Engineering with expertise in satellite and space engineering, including but not limited to spacecraft dynamics and control, payload and instrumentation, space robots, spacecraft design and tests, space technology applications such as navigation, remote sensing, and communications;

(b)    experience in acquiring external research funding including national and international funding bodies and industries;

(c)    strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research; 

(d)    effective classroom teaching skills and good interpersonal skills; and

(e)    excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills, as well as strong cooperation skills with the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.

Your personal sphere of influence:

As a university assistant (praedoc) on this 4-year position, you will be part of the Quantum Nanophysics Team (QNP) around Prof. Markus Arndt. Our group is working on experiments at the interface between quantum and classical physics as well as between quantum and bio-molecular science. We develop universal matter-wave interferometry in the limit of high mass and high complexity, from organic molecules to metal clusters and dielectric nanoparticles from molecular beams to levitated optomechanics.

We work on novel tools for quantum sensing, mass spectrometry and biomolecular chemistry.

Our team is member of the Austrian Cluster of Excellence (qAustria), of the Vienna Doctoral School in Physics (VDSP), of the Vienna Center for Quantum Science and Technology (VCQ) and of the faculty research group on Quantum Science. You will be part of a thriving community with more than 100 quantum scientists on premise, about 300 in Vienna and more than 600 quantum researchers  across Austria.

The QNP team unites a team of 15 -17 scientists (Master student, PhD student, postdoc, senior scientist), currently of six different nations,  which are inspired by working together on solving technical challenges to advance fundamental questions of quantum science. Together we have a unique skill set and knowledge base in quantum interferometry, molecular science, opto-mechanics, quantum sensing, particle beam methods, laser technology, physical chemistry. Working with us means learning something new every day.

You will be affiliated with the research project, with the working title Q4-BIO, where we open a new field of research around quantum tools for and quantum physics with neutral biomolecules. This comprises for instance the development of new cold beam sources, quantum detectors , quantum coherent beam splitters, explorations of spin physics and quantum delocalization in complex molecules. The experiment will move into a dedicated new laboratory in 2027.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:


	You are involved in a specific research project, here Q4-BIO.
	You will present your research plan to the faculty and complete a dissertation agreement within 12-18 months. This will be reviewed and adapted on an annual basis.
	You will work on your dissertation and aim at a completion in 4 years. We expect a high degree of independence paired with a high level of social competence to be successful in the team.
	You will contribute to teaching (lab courses, exercise classes) within the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
	You will fill some administrative tasks, contributing to the success and self-organization of the group for research, teaching and administration.
	You will continuously stay informed about the state of the art in your field.
	You contribute to outreach by publications, conference presentations and public activities.


This is part of your personality:


	You must have completed your Master's degree or Diploma in physics before you start your position at the University of Vienna, or hold an equivalent qualification that allows enrollment as a PhD student at the University of Vienna by that date.
	Because we design and build our research machines ourselves, you must have extended hands-on experience in at least two of the following areas:
	
		molecular beam sources,
		(cryogenic) ultra-high-vacuum systems,
		superconducting nanowire detectors,
		advanced optics, laser systems and frequency conversion, 
		mass spectrometry or matter-wave research.

2 Post-Doctoral Fellow Positions: Development of Multifunctional Hydrogels for Agricultural Applications (2 positions)

Job description:

An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and talented post-doctoral fellow (PDF) to work on a collaborative project between Sustainable Materials Research Center (SusMaT-RC) at the University Mohammed 6 Polytechnic (UM6P) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The PDF will be enrolled at SusMaT-RC under the supervision of Professor Youssef Habibi.

Our research project’s main focus is to develop multifunctional bio-sourced hydrogels for agricultural applications. To achieve desired properties, locally abundant biomass material will be converted into highly added value components and incorporating these materials with other fertilizers and/or biobased additives, through sustainable pathways, to produce bio-based hydrogels.

Key duties:

The successful candidate is expected to:


	Have hands-on experience in hydrogel formulation and (bio)polymer processing.
	Have good experience in developing porous materials, including design, fabrication, and characterization.
	Have strong background in one of the following disciplines: Materials Science; Chemical Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Physics; Chemistry.
	Be familiar with analytical, spectroscopic, and microscopic techniques.
	Conduct rigorous testing to ensure the performance, reliability, and robustness of the designed systems.
	Collaborate with interdisciplinary research group, including chemists, polymer specialists, and engineers.
	Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, results, and observations.
	Draft technical reports, research papers, and presentations for conferences and scientific publications.
	Contribute to writing proposals and seeking external funding opportunities to support ongoing research projects.
	Be experienced in supervising undergraduate, master's and doctoral students.
	Travel abroad (United States) for a short period of time for work assignment.

University College Birmingham is seeking to appoint up to 5 Lecturers in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) to support the delivery of Transnational Education (TNE) programmes delivered in partnership with international institutions.

This role focuses on the planning, delivery and assessment of contextualised academic English provision for international students studying on UCB‑validated programmes overseas. The postholder will support students in developing the academic language and study skills required for successful progression into English‑medium higher education, ensuring consistency of standards and alignment with University expectations.

The post is offered on a permanent, fractional basis, equivalent to 0.66 FTE, and includes allocated time for teaching, preparation, assessment and marking activity in support of TNE delivery.

We are looking for committed and experienced EAP practitioners who have:


	Experience teaching English for Academic Purposes in higher education
	Experience supporting international students, ideally within online or transnational contexts
	A DELTA or equivalent Level 7 teaching qualification
	Strong digital literacy and confidence using online learning technologies
