Afyonkarahisar Health Sciences University was established in 2018 after a split from another institution. 
Students can study across schools of dentistry, health sciences, medicine, nursing and pharmacy. Medical technicians are trained at three vocational schools. 
The university's Health Research and Application Centre, which covers a whole range of treatments with particular expertise in physiotherapy, is a 627-bed facility with 1923 staff. It includes the GETAT Centre, which looks at the uses of complementary and traditional forms of medicine. A 100-bed Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Unit is planned.

We are recruiting for a Research Fellow to deliver on the project "Digital Harms, Democratic Costs (DHDC)". DHDC envisions a more gender-equal and inclusive democratic future where online participation by women and girls is not constrained by fear, reputational harm, or synthetic manipulation by AI tools. DHDC realises this vision with a dual focus on how harmful-but-legal behaviours and AI-mediated distortions individually or in combination shape violence against women and girls in political life online, and prototyping practical, rights-preserving interventions that empower Women MPs, inform policing and justice responses, and strengthen democratic resilience. The selected candidate will help deliver this important project by engaging directly with Women MPs and their staff and through data analysis on public online discourse on UK political topics (e.g., on social media posts). 

The post is currently funded until 31 March 2026, although there may be a further extension, should additional funding become available.

About you

The successful candidate will:


	Hold a PhD in Computer Science or related topic (essential)
	Have proficiency in analysing large data sets (essential), including ideally:
	
		social media data (desirable)
		work on online harms such as hate speech (desirable)
		AI data (desirable)
	
	
	Have an interest in public online discourse, and helping shape a more civic dialogue online

The role

Applications are invited for 3 Research Fellow positions to work in the Catalysis for Chemical Circularity Group in School of Engineering, University of Surrey. (part time, fixed term contract upto Feb 2026) The main role of the post holder will be to carry out research in textile chemical recycling into value-added chemicals using mechanochemistry, developing research expertise and portfolios in this emerging field towards a circular textile economy. This interdisciplinary project is in close collaboration with a leading company in textile design and manufacturing. The main project objectives are:


	Screening mechanochemical conditions for textile valorisation into useful chemicals.
	Develop catalytic pyrolysis protocols for textile thermal conversion.
	Achieve material to chemical conversion > 50%.


Key responsibilities:


	To conduct data analysis and ensure the validity and reliability of data at all times
	To maintain accurate and complete records of all findings
	To present the work to industrial collaborators, as advised by the supervisors
	To report on a regular basis about the progress of the work at meetings with the academic leaders
	To take initiatives in the planning of research
	To write reports for submission to research sponsors


About you

The successful candidate should have a MSc and above degree in Material Science, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. S/he should have a strong background in experimental catalyst design, characterisation and testing. Prior knowledge of mechanochemsitry, polymer chemistry and physics, plastic chemical recycling is especially welcomed.

Essential experiences, knowledge and skills include:


	Practical experience within a research environment
	Experience with experimental design, catalyst design and catalytic reactions
	Practical experience in a broad range of techniques in material and chemical characterisation
	Ability to conduct a detailed review of recent literature

The brand-new Number Theory Research Group at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Helsinki is seeking 1-2 doctoral researchers to join a research project on analytic number theory. The work is part of the research project “Higher rank symmetries in analytic number theory” funded by the Academy of Finland and the Emil Aaltonen Foundation, which is led by Assistant Professor Jori Merikoski. The position is for a fixed term of three years, with flexibility regarding the starting date. The selected candidate can start as soon as possible during Spring 2026 but no later than September 2026. There will be a trial period of six months at the beginning of the employment.

Job description

The selected candidate will carry out research on the interface between automorphic forms, prime numbers, divisor functions, and L-functions. This is an active area within modern number theory with many possible research directions. The supervisor will help the selected candidate to choose appropriate research questions and acquire the required skills.

The position is fixed-term with the main purpose of preparing a dissertation related to the project in the Doctoral Programme in Science (SciDoc) of the University of Helsinki. The researcher will write scientific manuscripts on their results for publication in international peer-reviewed journals. The position includes funding to attend conferences and make research visits abroad.

Who are we looking for

The position requires expertise in analytic number theory or excellent capabilities to adopt it, with emphasis on the following topics: distribution of prime numbers and arithmetic functions, theory of zeta- and L-functions, and theory of automorphic forms. Competency in related areas of mathematics such as representation theory, Lie groups, or algebraic number theory is seen as an advantage. 

The doctoral researcher shall have a Master's degree or equivalent in a suitable field, preferably in analytic number theory, by the time they start the work. Successful completion of the task requires the ability to conduct independent research and fluent English language skills.

Salary

The salary will be based on level 2 of the job requirement scheme for teaching and research personnel in the salary system of Finnish universities. The School of Robotics is one of the seven industry-themed Schools in the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang). ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCES


	A doctoral research (normally PhD) degree in electrical and electronics, mechatronics, intelligent controls, robotics engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, computer vision, mobile robotics, machine learning, data science and analytics, or be able to demonstrate an equivalent professional practice and engagement.
	Previous experience in coding (C/C++, Python, ROS etc) in robotics-related domains.
	Self-motivated for innovative teaching.
	Clear understanding of the philosophy and concept of Syntegrative Education (SE).
	Demonstrable past teaching/industry experiences or practices aligned with Syntegrative Education (SE).
