Lead Software Engineering programmes and academic direction Advance research with strong industry collaboration Shape AI integration in teaching and curriculum About the role - Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga  This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-career Software Engineer to show strong leadership and progress your research goals. As Programme Lead for Software Engineering, this full-time role is expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as well as the supervision of honours, graduate and postgraduate students. The Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor will be expected to maintain professional associations, establish and promote collaborations with industry, and contribute to outreach events. Salary will be in the range of $113,428 to $148,799 for a Senior Lecturer, or $150,661 to $166,176 for an Associate Professor, per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week), based at our Hillcrest Campus. We are seeking to grow our Software Engineering department with the addition of a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor who enhances our research strengths, creates engaging teaching experiences, and contributes to our outreach programmes. We are especially interested in appointing an experienced academic who can provide leadership in integrating emerging AI tools and methodologies into our software engineering programme. The successful candidate will hold a relevant PhD and have demonstrated teaching and research experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, including successful supervision of Masters and Doctoral students, supported by a strong track record of securing competitive research funding. Additionally, experience leading a team of academic colleagues is strongly preferred, as well as a willingness to contribute to both our Hamilton and Tauranga programmes. Who are we? - Ko wai mātou? Au Reikura - The School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Waikato comprises four discipline groups. The Software Engineering group has research strengths in areas such as human-centred computing, internet of things, and software correctness. Software Engineering is closely aligned with the Computer Science programme, where we have a strong presence in Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security. We offer a range of Software Engineering programmes, from the fully accredited Bachelor of Engineering to PhD level. Our programmes are accredited under the Washington Accord and the Seoul Accord. Description The Haven Lab, in the Division of Engineering and the Center for Cyber Security, New York University Abu Dhabi, invites applications for a Post-doctoral Associate position in security and privacy. The lab's mission is to provide individuals with control over their privacy and protection from digital threats. We want to work towards a future where digital services are inherently designed with user privacy and safety at the forefront. Current research thrusts involve: Large-scale measurements on the web to understand and characterize harmful online phenomena. Development of AI-based countermeasures for security and privacy, especially in on-device settings. Investigation of attacks/defenses on AI-based systems.
