Abdullah Gül University is a state university supported by a philanthropic foundation. It was established in July 2010 and is located in the province of Kayseri, Turkey.

Students were first admitted in the 2013-2014 academic year.

It was named after the 11th president of the Turkish Republic Abdullah Gul, who was also a prominent citizen of Kayseri.

The university is based across two campuses - one in the city centre of Kayseri (Sumer Campus) and the Mimar Sinan Campus, which is still under development. The Sumer Campus offers student housing and has recently opened the new Steel Building.

The Mimar Sinan Campus is located 14km away from Kayseri city centre and will serve as the university's main campus on completion and there will be a shuttle service that will connect it to the city centre.

There are five schools at the university offering 14 graduate and undergraduate programmes. All of the courses taught at the university are taught in English.
The five schools include engineering, architecture, leadership and management, life and natural sciences, and languages.

There are also a few institutes and centres that are part of the university including the AGU Academy: The Center for Continuing Education, AGU Children's University: Center for Gifted Children and the Research and Development Office.

Kayseri is a bustling, industrial city and is located close to Cappadocia which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is famous for its unique rock formations and hot air balloon rides. Kayseri is located at the foot of Mount Ericyes, an extinct volcano.

Job Description:  We are seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer to join our team for a fixed-term project. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and validating objective texture testing methods that can accurately categorize foods within the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) framework, with a specific focus on Level 5 (Minced & Moist). This role will involve designing custom test fixtures, conducting practical laboratory work, and performing data analysis to create a robust and reliable testing protocol. Key Responsbilities: Conduct a comprehensive literature review on food rheology, texture analysis, particle analysis, image analysis and the IDDSI framework. Design and execute experiments to develop new instrumental texture analysis methods suitable for IDDSI Level 5 foods. Validate new methods against existing standards and a sensory panel to ensure accuracy and clinical relevance. Collect, analyze, and interpret data from instrumental and sensory evaluations. Document all experimental procedures, findings, and analyses in technical reports and prepare presentations to industry stakeholders and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Collaborate with a research team, including food scientists, clinicians, and engineers, to ensure the developed methods are practical and clinically relevant. Job Requirements: A degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. A Master's or Ph.D. in a related research field is advantageous. Experience with instrumental texture, image analysis and particle sizing techniques (e.g., texture analyzers, universal testing machines) is highly desirable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in material characterization techniques, such as stress-strain characterization. Proficiency in analysis software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, R, or other statistical software). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Surrey Space Centre (SSC) is a leading force in space engineering research and education. We are looking to recruit a Space Mission Ground Station Engineer to work with the SSC Director and the Centre’s academics to complete a comprehensive upgrade to SSC’s satellite ground-station facility (hardware and software) taking it to state-of-the-art capability. In addition to SSC’s missions, which include the next generation of CubeSats and lunar projects, we also provide mission support for other parts of the University and third parties. This role will be a great opportunity for the right person to work with SSC’s engineers and academics to deliver a leading-edge ground support facility. We are looking for someone who already has a good understanding of the principles of satellite telemetry, telecommand and tracking who is able to make a significant engineering contribution to upgrading the SSC Ground Station’s hardware and software. Additional desirable attributes are: Knowledge and experience of satellite communications, ground stations or similar systems Good practical working knowledge of relevant software tools (e.g.Linux, python, C/C++ & html programming and PC computer networking) Experience of CubeSat mission operations covering mission development from concept to detailed design of the satellite. We have an exciting opportunity at the University of Southampton for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work within a highly skilled team, we have our own workshop to carry out on-site repairs, including milling, turning, and welding. This spans over a vast estate, this role will play a vital part in supporting the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance of Mechanical systems across the University, to keep our estate operational. You will have excellent technical and communication skills, with the ability to plan and manage your own workload. You will need to be positive with a can do attitude and proactive problem solver to be able to manage a mixture of planned and reactive maintenance to ensure that work is delivered on time and to a high standard. You will be able to work in a team environment. The successful candidate will hold a City and Guilds qualification and/or minimum NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical engineering or equivalent discipline and have successfully completed a Mechanical apprenticeship or similar training programme. You will be familiar with Health & Safety legislation and understand risk assessments, method statements, and how to apply these to planned and reactive maintenance. You will have experience of maintenance in a commercial or similar environment. A full driving license and participation in an out of hours call out rota are required.
