Āu Mahi | What You Will Do UC Business School | Te Kura Umanga, University of Canterbury, invites applications for a continuing position at Lecturer/Senior Lecturer level in Accounting. Teach Financial Accounting and other related areas Interest in technological innovations in accounting Conduct scholarly impactful research Engage in service-related activities The role involves actively contributing to the research profile of the Department of Accounting and Information Systems through the pursuit of a programme of impactful research; high-quality teaching at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels; curriculum development; postgraduate research supervision; engaging with external stakeholders; and contributing to departmental and university service. Mōu | Who You Are You will be an enthusiastic and committed academic who brings strong disciplinary expertise, a collegial mindset, and a passion for learning and discovery. You will have: A completed PhD in Accounting Demonstrated potential or a proven record of publishing in high-quality, internationally recognised journals. Strong skills in Financial Accounting, with the ability to teach across levels, including first-year courses. High level of IT proficiency. Excellent written and oral communication skills, enabling effective teaching and engagement with students. A commitment to high-quality, student-focused teaching, innovative pedagogies, and continuous improvement. The ability and willingness to supervise postgraduate research students. A collaborative approach and readiness to contribute positively to departmental service and collegial activities.
