Each School consists of an Education, Research and Development Institute (ERDI) for teaching and research collaboration, a one-stop School Office providing professional services to support student administration and activities, members of staff, and industry partners, and an affiliated School Joint-Venture Company jointly established by XJTLU and the School’s partner for industry-embedded teaching, learning, practical, and other activities. The governance of the School is through a School Council. The Dean of School oversees the School Management Team as well as contributing to the leadership of the Taicang campus.  Industry Partner Overview The School of CHIPS is jointly developed by the University and industry partners, Standard Science Chip Cloud Microelectronics and Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, to deliver the industry-themed programme(s). The first-degree programme that the School has launched for the Academic Year 2021/2022 is BEng Microelectronics Science and Engineering with Contemporary Entrepreneurship.   Standard Science Chip Cloud Microelectronics is a comprehensive technology enterprise specialising in investment in integrated circuit industry chain services. Work collaboratively with relevant School(s), College and University entities to identify opportunities for meaningful and genuine partnership and successful impact-creation for research.  Conduct high-quality industry-enhanced research and consultancy contracts, evidenced by contribution that output makes to industry, the economy, society, environment or culture, beyond the contribution to academic research. Maintain good, sustained, and successful research grants with impact measured by publications in leading journals and other research outputs. Create, develop and manage successful research partnerships with industry, academic institutions, and other external organisations. Support innovative cross-disciplinary research in line with the Entrepreneur College (Taicang) research themes, and become an ambassador for the School for the promotion of cross-boundary research and teaching activities. Engage actively with new educational models and embrace innovative, interactive, technology-enhanced learning, teaching, and assessment approaches; understand and have an entrepreneur and innovative mindset in line with College ethos. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCES A doctoral research (normally PhD) degree in electrical and electronics engineering, microelectronics engineering, integrated circuits design, integrated circuits fabrication, microprocessor systems, digital VLSI design, CMOS digital integrated circuits, or be able to demonstrate an equivalent professional practice and engagement. Self-motivated for innovative teaching. Clear understanding of the philosophy and concept of Syntegrative Education (SE). Demonstrable past teaching/industry experiences or practices aligned with Syntegrative Education (SE). A commitment to Continual Professional Development in all areas of the role as an academic at the university. Ability to work, teach and research in English. Strong team-work spirit. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE A good track record of engagement with business and industry. University-level teaching experience.  Relevant industry experience. Appropriate research experience, including working with industry, for the corresponding academic position level. Experience in intensive teaching and problem-based learning, and a willingness to be innovative in teaching practices.  An institutional builder, able to work with wider disciplines across the college. Job Description SCHOOL OF CHINESE MEDICINE TEACHING AND RESEARCH DIVISION The School of Chinese Medicine was established in 1999 and offers comprehensive education programmes in Chinese medicine, including both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy in Chinese Medicine. The School is engaged in a wide range of research projects, provides Chinese medicine healthcare services to the community, and seeks to foster modernisation of the Chinese medicine profession. To consolidate the strengths of innovative research, the School has established eight high quality theme-based Research Centres equipped with advanced equipment and facilities. The highlighted strategic research areas in the School include (1) Precision medicine and phenomics study; (2) Translational medicine and innovative drug discovery; and (3) Authentication and testing of Chinese medicines. Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor (23241272) The School of Chinese Medicine now invites applications for faculty position at the Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor level. Applicants should possess a PhD in medicinal chemistry/biochemistry/biology/medicine background and research focus on the area are invited to join the School. Excellent interpersonal communication and scientific writing skills are required. Preference will be given to candidates with appealing external grant record, outstanding publication and leading potential of industrialisation for development of prognostic and predictive biomarkers as well as innovative therapeutic intervention. The School of Health Sciences is seeking a Lecturer B / Senior Lecturer with professional registration (GPhC, NMC or HCPC) to lead a research portfolio that is supported by external funding and evidenced by high quality publications and societal impact whilst contributing to the teaching of aspects of their specialised area within health sciences and of related subjects, at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including the supervision of doctoral level research. This is a permanent, full-time post based in Guildford with possible hybrid working. Appointments will be offered at Lecturer B or Senior Lecturer level depending on experience (see job profiles below for more information). The salary range for a Lecturer B starts from £47,389, and for a Senior Lecturer from £58,225.
