Times Higher Education email domains for communications

April 30, 2024

The email domain for staff and some of our smaller communications matches that of our website, namely @timeshighereducation.com

For the last two years, larger-scale email communications have been sent from a different email domain, namely @timeshighereducationemail.com. However, we have been using this email domain to send different types of emails, which has caused some confusion. Due to this, from 1 May 2024, we will be using the following email domains:

  • @timeshighereducationdata.com – this will be used exclusively to email bulk messages to our data providers at universities. We will not use this email domain for any other purpose.
  • @timeshighereducationsurvey.com – this will be used exclusively to email survey invitations to academics listed in our academic contact database. We will not use this email domain for any other purpose.
  • @timeshighereducationemail.com – this will be used for newsletters and marketing activities.

These email domains will not accept incoming emails. We will continue to use the email domain @timeshighereducation.com for individual email messages sent to and from our mailboxes, e.g. profilerankings@timeshighereducation.com and impact@timeshighereducation.com.

Due to these changes, please ensure that, if relevant to your organisation, these domains are added to any “safe sender” or “whitelists”. This usually requires help from your IT department.
