AI has become a catalyst for change, transforming industries and reshaping everyday lives. As this new technology continues to evolve, there is a need for AI specialists who can connect technology with various disciplines to drive innovation. The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) looks to create a culture of interdisciplinarity and collaboration among its academic community to explore the all-encompassing impact of technology on today’s world. CUHK established its Artificial Intelligence: Systems and Technologies (AIST) programme in 2019, becoming Hong Kong’s first bachelor of engineering degree in AI.

The programme is supported by the strong academic foundation offered by CUHK’s Faculty of Engineering. It is renowned for world-class faculty members, including a Turing Award winner, several Fellows of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and members of the Association for Computing Machinery, who drive innovation in fields such as biomedical engineering, cybersecurity and AI.
