We are seeking an experienced academic or practitioner with a substantial track record in creative technologies, media art, digital practice, interaction design, games or related fields. This role offers an opportunity to play a leading role in shaping the future of Creative Computing and Creative Technologies education within a highly collaborative and creative environment. 

You will contribute to teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes while helping to drive curriculum innovation, educational enhancement and the continued development of our creative technology portfolio. Our approach combines technical capability with creative practice, critical thinking and experimentation, placing making at the heart of technological education. 

You will demonstrate:


	Significant experience in higher education teaching or equivalent professional educational practice.
	A strong record of creative, technical or professional practice in creative technologies, digital arts, creative computing or a related field.
	Experience of curriculum development, module leadership, programme management, mentoring or educational leadership.
	The ability to integrate coding, computational approaches and emerging technologies into engaging student learning experiences.
	A commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative pedagogic practice.
	Experience of contributing to research, knowledge exchange, enterprise activity or wider professional engagement.


Particular welcome will be given to candidates with expertise in areas such as creative coding, generative and AI-assisted practice, immersive technologies, physical computing, interaction design, games, digital cultures or emerging forms of creative technology.

As part of the selection process, candidates will deliver a short teaching demonstration introducing a coding, computational or creative technology concept to students. The session will be open to members of the Department and will allow candidates to demonstrate their teaching style, ability to engage diverse learners, and approach to practice-based creative technology education. About The Team

The Australian National Phenome Centre (ANPC) is a national Core Facility for high-resolution metabolic phenotyping and translational bioscience. Based within the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research in Perth's Murdoch Health Precinct, the Centre integrates advanced Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), mass spectrometry, automation and bioinformatics platforms to support industrial-scale biological analysis and population-scale phenotyping at the interface of research, healthcare and industry. Your New Role! 

Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Research and Innovation, the Centre Director provides strategic, scientific and operational leadership for the Australian National Phenome Centre (ANPC). The role is responsible for setting the Centre's vision and direction, maximising the impact of its infrastructure, and positioning the Centre as globally recognised leader in precision health, translational bioscience and population-scale discovery.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team of scientists and technical specialists, drive intentionally competitive research programs, secure major research investment, and support the translation of research outcomes into clinical, public health, commercial and societal impact.

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join an EPSRC-funded research project developing advanced computational methods for large-scale thermofluid topology optimisation. The project will build on our in-house thermofluid topology optimisation framework to design high-performance fluid–thermal systems governed by turbulent flow and heat transfer.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of scalable optimisation algorithms, adjoint-based sensitivity analysis, high-performance CFD, and robust treatment of complex multi-physics design problems. The role will involve extending and applying our existing topology optimisation capability to challenging three-dimensional thermofluid systems, with particular emphasis on computational efficiency, numerical robustness, and large-scale design spaces.

The project is part of a broader collaborative programme involving complementary expertise in high-fidelity flow simulation and experimental fluid mechanics.

Applicants should have a strong background in computational fluid dynamics (preferably with OpenFOAM), numerical optimisation, high-performance computing or a closely related area. Experience in topology optimisation, adjoint methods, turbulent flow modelling, heat transfer, or high-performance computing would be particularly advantageous.

Your new team - School of Physics

The Experimental Particle Physics group has four academics, 5 postdocs, 15 PhD students and runs local detector laboratories, a clean room and has access to cryogenic and detectors facilities in the Stawell underground Laboratory. It led the ARC Centre of Excellence for Particle Physics at the Terascale (CoEPP) and leads the ARC Centre of Excellence for Dark Matter Particle Physics.

Flavour: a founding member of the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB electron-positron collider at KEK, Japan, with leading roles in physics analysis, Silicon Vertex Detector construction, grid computing and collaboration governance. Physics interests include CKM matrix elements, new physics in (semi)leptonic B decays, CP violation and lepton flavour violation.

Neutrinos: Melbourne leads Australia's participation in Hyper-Kamiokande, the next-generation water Cherenkov neutrino detector under construction in Japan, including a contribution to the outer detector and on-site construction from 2027. Our physics goals include leptonic CP violation, the neutrino mass ordering and the search for proton decay.

Dark matter: the group leads Australia's dark matter direct-detection program, including the SABRE South experiment and a cryogenic facility at the Stawell Underground Physics Laboratory (SUPL), Australia's first deep underground laboratory.

Other programs: ATLAS at CERN, where the group had a leading role in the analysis of Higgs boson decays to fermions, dark matter and multi-fermion final states searches. It contributes to the ATLAS Inner Tracker (ITk) silicon upgrade.
