Based in Beijing, China Agricultural University is the oldest agricultural university in the country. Established as the College of Agriculture in 1905, it became Beijing Agricultural University following a merger after the People’s Republic of China was formed in 1949. It then merged with Beijing Agricultural Engineering University in 1995, becoming China Agricultural University, as it known today.

CAU has three campuses, covering a total of 388 acres. The East Campus is north of the city centre, 10km from the West Campus and 25km south east of Beijing’s main airport.

Several new buildings have been built since the turn of the century, including a Life Sciences Building and College of Engineering. CAU’s centennial celebration in 2005 took place in the Great Hall of the People in Tiananmen Square.

China Agricultural University has established partnerships with hundreds of institutions across the world, with an increasing number of its students now studying abroad. Its students come from over 80 different countries globally.

CAU’s new gymnasium played host to all the wrestling events at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, both freestyle and Greco-Roman. The university’s rugby side that formed in 1990 played a major part in the re-emergence of rugby union as a sport in China. China Agricultural University’s alumni include fly-half Zhang Zhiqiang, who captained the Chinese national team and played for English side Leicester Tigers before returning to his alma mater to coach his old team.

ON-TRACT unites leading universities, hospitals, SMEs, and pharmaceutical companies across Europe. As a doctoral candidate, you will receive world-class interdisciplinary training, including academic, industry, and hospital placements, plus courses in cutting-edge science and transferable skills. Based in the School of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, you will research the design and evaluation of novel ON systems and analogue models for specific purposes: Post 1: Synthesis of building blocks for evolution of polymerases to revolutionize PCR-based technologies, enabling innovative cancer-targeted therapies. Post 2: Development of antisense oligonucleotides and conjugates for targeted inhaled delivery to lung tissue, addressing diseases such as lung cancer, asthma, and COPD. Post 3: Design of modified oligonucleotides to target IRES structures of oncogenic mRNAs, avoiding global translation inhibition and testing efficacy in organoid models. In order to be considered for these posts, please also complete the postgraduate application process for the desired post above. Responsibilities include defining research questions, conducting independent research, collaborating with ON-TRACT partners (including extended study periods abroad), engaging in training, and disseminating results in high-impact venues. Our team of researchers lead key internationally competitive research from molecules to medicines, from patient to policy across a range of therapeutic areas. The NSW Brain Tissue Resource Centre (BTRC) at the University of Sydney supports the advancement of medical research into neurological illnesses by collecting, characterising and storing postmortem human brain and spinal cord tissue and providing specimens for merit-based research projects around the world. The BTRC is funded by the National Institutes of Health and has operated for close to 30 years. We have an opportunity for a Research Assistant to join the team to contribute to this important work. The Research Assistant will be involved in both wet and dry lab activity, and specifically the collection of specimens, including the dissection, sectioning, staining and storing of samples, as well as collecting and preparing samples for use by researchers. In the dry lab, the Research Assistant will provide support in maintaining our existing protocols as well as investigating and recommending relevant process improvements, based on industry best practice. This role is ideally suited to a motivated and detail-oriented individual who enjoys working in a research-focused environment and contributing to outcomes that support the school's research agenda. Postdoctoral Researcher (PostDoc) in Coastal Design, Blue Economy Innovation, Luxury Tourism & Yachting Development Position Overview The Sustainable Real Estate Innovation Lab (SuRE In Lab) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (Morocco) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher with strong expertise in design-driven approaches to coastal development, sustainable tourism, and the yachting sector. The position aims to reinforce the laboratory’s interdisciplinary team and contribute to the refinement of the ongoing project “Sustainable Tourism Development: Blueprint for a Green Luxury Yacht Cluster in the Tétouan Region.” The selected candidate will focus on design, spatial thinking, and applied project development, supporting innovative visions for marine-related real estate, nautical infrastructures, luxury tourism concepts, and coastal territorial transformation. This PostDoc will integrate architectural, spatial, and service-design methodologies into blue economy and yachting development strategies, ensuring both pragmatic feasibility and visionary sustainability. Key Responsibilities Under the direct leadership of the Director of SuRE In Lab the candidate will develop the design-oriented components of the project, including: a. Concept Design for Coastal and Nautical Environments Develop spatial concepts, design scenarios, and architectural visions for coastal areas, marinas, and yacht-cluster infrastructures. Produce design frameworks integrating: Green marina models Eco-resorts and luxury tourism facilities Coastal public-space networks Biodiversity-conscious infrastructures Explore adaptive and resilient coastal design strategies in response to climate, environmental, and socio-economic pressures. b. The Faculty of Humanities at the University of Helsinki invites applications for the position of POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER IN COMPUTER SCIENCE OR DIGITAL HUMANITIES SPECIALIZING IN AUDIOVISUAL DATA for a fixed-term period of 36 months, starting in May 2026. This position is based at the Multimodality Research Group in the Department of Languages and funded by an ERC Consolidator Grant awarded to Professor Tuomo Hiippala. The project develops novel methods and resources for studying multimodality, or how humans communicate using combinations of multiple ‘modes’ of expression. These methods and resources are used to develop empirically founded theories of multimodal communication in the domain of everyday cultural artefacts. The data studied in the project includes, for example, school textbooks, news broadcasts and instruction manuals. RESPONSIBILITIES The post-doctoral researcher will participate in building a large multimodal corpus of news broadcasts in Finnish, Finland-Swedish, Sámi and Finnish Sign Language. The responsibilities of the appointee include developing approaches that use automatic speech recognition, computer vision models and other computational methods to annotate the data, and verifying the quality of these annotations using human-in-the-loop approaches. In addition to conducting research, the post-doctoral researcher is expected to report the results in lead- and co-authored publications submitted to suitable venues, which will be determined collaboratively with the PI. QUALIFICATIONS The appointee must hold a doctoral degree in computer science, digital humanities or a related field, and have a keen interest in multimodality and audiovisual media. Previous experience of applying computational methods to large volumes of audiovisual data is essential. The appointee must have solid skills in programming and working with libraries for training and using machine learning models. Previous experience in managing large volumes of data and high-performance computing is necessary. Experience in collaborative development of research software and building annotated datasets or corpora is considered an advantage. The appointee must be able to work independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary research group consisting of researchers with diverse backgrounds. Strong teamwork skills and an excellent command of written and spoken English are also required. A knowledge of Finnish is considered an advantage for the corpus work. The appointee is expected to reside in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area while employed by the University of Helsinki.
