Established in 1949, National Taipei University (NTPU) was preceded by Taiwan Provincial College of Public Administration, Administrative Extension Program, Taiwan Provincial College of Law and Business, and College of Law and Business, Taiwan Provincial Chung-Hsin University. In 2000, the institution made the transition into becoming the National Taipei University. Facing the rapid changes in the world and the competitive talents, we continue to advance toward “R&D-based teaching” and “practical application research”, and pursues new ideas of innovative research and development, driving practical innovation teaching and applying innovative teaching, so that students can learn in the learning process. There are seven colleges at the university, namely the College of Law, College of Business, College of Public Affairs, College of Social Sciences, College of Humanities, College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and International College of Sustainability Innovations, total eighteen departments, twenty-six master programs, nine doctoral programs, ten master’s in-service special programs and nine extension education programs. Besides, we have Center for General Education, Center for Teacher Education and five school-level research centers including Center for Global Change and Sustainability Science, Public Finance and Finance Research Center, Center for Haishan Research, Research Center on Big Data and Smart City and Research Center for Asia and Pan Pacific Region. Over the past few decades, the NTPU has traditionally played a significant and pivotal role in educating and developing the mid- and high-level talents in the areas of law, business, public administration, as well as social sciences. To date, several hundred thousand NTPU alumni have established themselves in a large number and wide range of important and significant positions both in the public sector and the private sector of the country.

Job Responsibilities Maintain, calibrate lab hardware/software; manage DT supplies inventory and replenishment; conduct equipment safety checks and asset management. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented post-doctoral researcher to join our research programme in metasurfaces. The position is funded by the three-year Leverhulme Trust Research Project Grant “Unwrapping topologically protected light on topologically structured surfaces”.  Building on the University of Southampton’s long-established and internationally recognised strength in metasurface research, this project will focus on developing a new class of metasurfaces for manipulating topologically structured light, with the ultimate aim of enabling intelligent optical sensing. A strong background in the design, nanofabrication, and characterisation of silicon metasurfaces is highly desirable, together with an aptitude for developing new experimental techniques related to this exciting research programme. To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate: A Ph.D. (or equivalent) in physics or engineering, specialising in photonic devices. Substantial and authoritative practical knowledge and experience in metasurfaces, supported by detailed understanding. Excellent communication and organisational skills, and a proven ability to work effectively within teams The appointment is for a two-year period, with the possibility of extension, and is ideally expected to start in April 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. About us The Department of War Studies seeks to appoint a Lecturer in International Law and Politics (Education). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, innovative and effective undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in international law and politics, ethics, war crimes, international justice, and peace and conflict studies. About the role  The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching, supervision and student support across a range of BA and MA programmes and modules, for example, our MA Peace, Security and International Law programme and modules such as MA ‘International Law and War’, BA2 ‘International Law, Human Rights and Intervention’, BA3 War and Genocide’ and BA3 ‘Contending with Legacies of Violence and Atrocity’. They will also be expected to contribute to leadership in teaching and curriculum development through module leadership and design and convening. The successful candidate will work with students from a wide range of backgrounds and will be responsible for enabling student success. The postholder will also engage in reflective practice and scholarship related to education in their disciplinary field, publish in peer-reviewed journals, engage with internal and external discussions and the dissemination of teaching innovations and initiatives, and seek internal and external funding. They will be expected to participate in relevant professional associations and networks and engage in public outreach, to play a role in the institutional and intellectual development of War Studies and to undertake Departmental, School, Faculty and University administrative duties as required. This is a full-time post on an indefinite (open-ended) academic contract on the Academic Education Pathway (AEP). The AEP is designed to ensure the recognition, reward and opportunities for advancement for exceptional educators. Successful candidates will be expected to obtain membership of the Higher Education Academy.
