The University of Vigo, founded in 1990, is a public institution located in the autonomous area of Galicia in north western Spain. It prides itself to be a Galician, international-looking university.. 

Its premises are divided into three campuses. The Lagoas-Marcosende campus, which is 15 kilometers away from the city of Vigo, focuses on technology. The Lagoas campus in downtown Ourense centers on water research that produces social and economic value. The Pontevedra campus, also located in an urban setting, mixes arts, sports and humanities.

The degrees offered at the University of Vigo spread across science, technology, social sciences, law and humanities. However, the university is also considered one of the most technical universities in Galicia, with a particular focus on telecommunications, computer science, industrial engineering and environment engineering. 

The institution's campuses are lively, with a lot of small film festivals, concerts, art exhibitions and sports taking place throughout the year. The Outdoor Campus is an experiment the university has undertaken where students improve their teamwork spirit and skills, and strategic thinking and problem solving ability by getting involved in sports and socio-cooperative games. Sports you can try out on campus are fencing, introductory rugby, tennis, archery and athletics. 

The University of Vigo is the only Spanish higher education institution to have sent two micro-satellites into space. It publishes the interdisciplinary journal of marine studies Thalassas

The King’s Motor Neuron Disease Care and Research Centre, in the Department of Basic and Clinical Neuroscience is an international multi-award-winning centre for clinical care and research into motor neuron diseases, focussing on understanding the condition, developing new treatments and testing the treatments in clinical trials. It is a key part of the UK Motor Neuron Disease Research Institute, a government and charity funded network of internationally and nationally recognised centres of excellence for motor neuron disease. The Role Two posts are available. One is funded by the European Research Council (ERC), to start in October 2026, for a period of 3 years. The other is funded by UK Research & Innovation (UKRI), to start in June 2026, for a period of 3 years. Successful candidates will join thriving research teams within the Institute for Computational Cosmology (ICC) at Durham. The ICC is a leading group in computational cosmology research, having previously played key roles in the development of simulation techniques for dark matter, dark energy and galaxy formation, and in the establishment of the Lambda cold dark matter (LCDM) model, and has continued to be at the forefront of cosmology research. Description The Embodied AI and Robotics (AIR) Laboratory in the Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Research Engineer to support applied research and development in artificial intelligence and robotics. The successful candidate will contribute to projects in Embodied AI, focusing on integrating AI-driven perception, reasoning, and action to enable intelligent robotic behavior across diverse environments. The position involves developing and testing embodied intelligence systems that combine vision-language-action (VLA) modeling, robotic perception and interaction, and autonomous task execution. The Research Engineer will assist in system design, software implementation, and experimental evaluation on robotic platforms, working closely with faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and students. The Embodied AI and Robotics Lab (AIR) develops intelligent robotic systems capable of understanding, learning, and acting in complex, dynamic settings. The lab’s work lies at the intersection of computer vision, multimodal learning, and robotics, advancing next-generation embodied agents that interact naturally and safely with humans and their surroundings.
