The University of Oregon is one of just 36 public institutions that can claim to be members of the prestigious Association of American Universities, and one of only two that are located in the Pacific Northwest.
Set between mountains and an ocean, the University of Oregon is located in the City of Eugene along the Willamette River. Eugene’s official slogan is ‘A Great City for the Arts and Outdoors’; it’s also known as ‘Emerald City’.
It was founded in 1876, at a time when the state was experiencing financial difficulties: in 1881, an $8,000 debt almost resulted in the university’s closure.
Overcoming these obstacles, it grew to become a thriving community comprising tens of thousands of students and faculty members.
The university’s main campus is located across 81 buildings and set in 295 leafy acres of land, where most undergraduates live during their first year.
Student athletes at the university call themselves ‘Ducks’, play in eighteen different varsity teams and have 24 national championships to their name. They are best known for their football, and track and field prowess, which has helped Eugene come to be known as ‘Track Town, USA’.
The university’s sports facilities include a 12-lane lap pool, a spa, a climbing wall and bouldering area, and 21 badminton courts.
There are students from every US state at the university, and international students are drawn from around 100 different countries, with the university offering 200 study abroad programs in 90 countries.
Its alumni include seven US governors, two Nobel Laureates, 13 Pulitzer Prize Winners, 19 Rhodes Scholars, 13 Olympic medallists and six members of the National Football League.
The university’s Outdoor Program is renowned as the birthplace of modern collegiate outdoor programs, and its students are regularly to be found hiking, rafting and mountain biking in between classes.

We are seeking a proactive and organized Programme / Lab Manager to oversee the administrative and operational aspects of a 5-year Wellcome Trust funded research programme entitled ‘When your body betrays you: interoceptive mechanisms of anxiety after cancer’. This is an interdisciplinary research programme cutting across psychology, neuroscience, and patient-clinician communication. This dynamic role involves managing budgets, contracts, and collaborations across leading institutions (KCL, UCL, and Stanford), supporting clinical trial-related activities of novel digital mind-body therapies, and facilitating research dissemination through publications and science communication. Description The newly established NYUAD Wireless Research Center at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate (PDA) to engage in cutting-edge research on channel modeling and characterization for communication and sensing in emerging spectrum for 6G and beyond, with a focus on the FR3, THz and optical frequency bands. This research will be conducted under the joint supervision of Marwa Chafii, and Murat Uysal. Principal Responsibilities The PDA will conduct extensive channel measurement campaigns to provide a comprehensive characterization of the ISAC channel models characterizing the interaction between sensing and communication. The PDA is also expected to contribute to optical channel modeling, particularly for comparative analysis with THz bands, where RF signals exhibit quasi-optical properties. The PDA is expected to actively disseminate results through publications in high-impact journals and presentations at leading international conferences. The PDA is expected to contribute to the intellectual property development through patent filings, as well as participating in standardization efforts relevant to wireless technologies, in coordination with academic and industrial collaborators. Qualifications Applicants must hold a PhD degree in electrical/electronics engineering, telecommunications or related field. Other requirements include Expertise in several areas among the following is desired: radio system modeling, electromagnetics, antennas, propagation, RF frontends, radar. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Coral Reef Restoration to join School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Faculty of Science. The Postdoctoral Fellow in Coral Reef Restoration will join an international and collaborative team of scientists and coral reef restoration practitioners contributing to the Coral Research & Development Accelerator Program (CORDAP) Project on enhancing substrate availability to accelerate reef recovery using novel underwater bioadhesives. The project addresses the challenge to reef recovery which is hindered by poor substrate quality or limited substrate availability. Our novel solution to this ever-accelerating problem is Underwater Bioadhesives that can be integrated into modern reef restoration strategies. Here we will use bioadhesive materials to strengthen substrates for coral settlement, stabilize reef slopes by binding loose rubble, and attach coral fragments as an alternative to concrete and chemical glues.
