Staffordshire University - Commitment to the law

Two Trinidadian students have shown great dedication in their quest to qualify as solicitors, giving up holidays over a combined 12 years to complete their studies. Francis Chattie, a policeman in his home country for 25 years, chose to forgo holidays over seven years to accumulate an adequate amount in lieu to gain his legal practice course qualification at Staffordshire University. Pascall Marcelin, a manager at Trinidad Cement, amassed six months of leave over five years and combined it with early retirement to complete his degree. The pair are among a 34-strong cohort from Trinidad and Tobago who graduated from Staffordshire last week.
