University of Wales Institute, Cardiff - Drawing the lines

It may not have made it to the finals, but Wales will play an important role in every single match at the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa. Researchers at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff teamed up with Cardiff-based company Bowcom to design and develop a pitch line-marking product. The paint applicator will be used to mark the lines on the pitches at every stadium and each of the 32 training pitches used by elite footballers during the month-long tournament.
