University of Ulster - £250 million for campus revamp

A multimillion-pound revamp of the University of Ulster's campuses has been announced. The £250 million development plans for the Jordanstown and Belfast campuses will allow an expansion of the number of courses available in the city, with Jordanstown remaining home to the Sports Institute Northern Ireland and the Ulster Sports Academy. Richard Barnett, the vice-chancellor, said that the university had already moved hospitality management courses to the city, which had proved popular with students and businesses. He added that a "vibrant city-centre location" was key for new courses in architecture, urban design and landscape studies, as well as continuing professional development and executive education.
