Université Paris-Saclay has a history that dates back to 1150 when the University of Paris was established. In 1971 a branch of the university in Orsay was renamed the University of Paris-Sud. In 2019 it became the Université Paris Saclay. The university is part of the Paris-Saclay project, which brings together nine higher education institutions and a business cluster to a research-intensive academic campus. The campus is being developed on the Plateau de Saclay on the outskirts of the city. This model is similar to the one adopted by the University of Oxford and Cambridge in the UK, where each college keeps its independence whilst remaining part of the university The university is located in the south of Paris, the capital of France. The university offers a range of undergraduate, masters and PhD degree programmes. These programmes are in the fields of science and engineering, life and health sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Research is an important part of the university’s activity. The university carries out this research at its 275 laboratories that it shares with various institutes and companies. These include the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission and the French National Centre for Scientific Research.

Description The newly established NYUAD Wireless Research Center at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate (PDA) who will conduct research on the physical layer design of optical wireless communication systems as enablers of wireless access/backhaul of 6G and beyond networks. The PDA will be jointly supervised by Murat Uysal and Qurrat-Ul-Ain Nadeem. Principal Responsibilities The PDA will conduct research to design and develop optical wireless communication systems. This involves the development of mathematical models for signal transmission/reception, derivation of performance limits, algorithmic-level system design and performance evaluation via computer simulations and/or experimental means. The PDA is expected to actively disseminate results through publications in high-impact journals and presentations at leading international conferences. The PDA is expected to contribute to intellectual property development through patent filings and participate in international standardization efforts relevant to optical wireless technologies in coordination with academic and industrial collaborators. Qualifications Applicants must hold a PhD degree in electrical/electronics engineering, telecommunications or related field. Other requirements include: Strong background in communication theory, signal processing, wireless/optical communications, and communication system engineering Extensive experience in physical layer algorithm design and performance analysis  Proven track record of publications in relevant IEEE journals and conferences In addition to the above qualifications, it is highly desirable that the candidate has prior research experience in one or more of the following research topics: Free space optical communication Visible light communication DSP for coherent optical communication Machine learning and AI-native physical layer design Optical reconfigurable intelligent surfaces  Spatial mode multiplexing and orbital angular momentum The candidates will be considered until the position is filled. As a Service Coordinator, you will work in the General Administration Services team on the Viikki Campus to support the heads of the departments of the Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences (Department of Organism and Evolutionary Biology, Department of Molecular and Integrative Biosciences and Department of Environmental Sciences) ensuring the smooth running of the daily operations. Research assistant positions at the International Business Unit at Aalto University School of Business What would I do as a research assistant? You would be working with the faculty on academic research projects, teaching related tasks and assignments about societal impact. Potential tasks include data collection and analysis, conducting literature reviews, statistical analyses, research interviews, and any other research tasks. The topics you may work on are varied and broad, such as headquarters (re)locations, diversity, languages in organizations, sustainability, human resources, and international entrepreneurship. We have a need for a few research assistants. The selected research assistants are expected to start either in May or latest in June, and continue throughout the summer and, if possible, stay with the faculty throughout the whole academic year. There is a possibility to work full time or part-time, with flexibility based on mutual preferences. What’s in it for me?
