We are seeking to make an appointment at Lecturer in Veterinary Small Animal (Education-Focused), with the primary focus to support the teaching of small animal surgery within the DVM program. You will play an integral part in the oversight of the Small Animal Surgery curriculum. You will have an active teaching role of DVM veterinary students in liaison with the Heads of Specialist and Primary Care Services. An academic background is not essential for this role - candidates with strong clinical experience will be considered. A Lecturer is expected to engage in teaching and research independently or as part of a team and support the DVM program predominantly through clinical supervision of surgery practical and didactic classes. A lecturer would have advanced training in a specific discipline (eg membership or similar). The Base Salary for a Lecturer at Level B is between $127,436 - 151,328 p.a) + 15% Loading for a Registered Specialist + 17% Superannuation (a total package up to $203,611 p.a) The academic environment is different to commercial specialty practice with the academic mission of teaching and research being central to operations.
