The Centre is looking for Senior Lecturers/Lecturers to teach, develop, and coordinate courses in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and English for Specific Purposes (ESP), with a particular emphasis on course coordination experience. The appointments of the Senior Lecturer will be commensurate with relevant experience. Requirements Applicants for the position should have: (i) At least 4 years' relevant experience in teaching at university level (at least 8 years for Senior Lecturer), including a minimum of 2 years' experience in teaching EAP/ESP courses, preferably to students of humanities, social sciences and/or business studies; (ii) A master's degree or above; a doctoral degree is preferred; (iii) A qualification in teaching English as a second/additional language (e.g., TEFL, CELTA, DELTA, or equivalent); (iv) Demonstrated expertise or substantial experience in IELTS test preparation and assessment, including knowledge of IELTS assessment criteria, test-taking strategies, and experience in teaching the four skills (Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking); (v) Proven experience in course coordination and curriculum development, including the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple instructors, ensure alignment of assessments and learning outcomes, and maintain quality assurance standards; (vi) An excellent command of English; and (vii) Preferred expertise and interests include: designing AI-enhanced language teaching and learning courses or tools; developing web-based interactive materials and implementing blended or flipped learning approaches and other innovative pedagogies; teaching academic speaking and oral presentation skills; delivering a foundational core course that strengthens students’ English proficiency and the academic skills needed for success in an English-medium university; delivering a course that develops written synthesis of academic sources, critical evaluation of arguments, seminar discussion and debating skills, as well as creative and reflective practices essential at the tertiary level; offering a disciplinary core course for Social Sciences majors to enhance professional communication theories and practices through a modular approach; and teaching elective courses that build students’ English proficiency while familiarising them with IELTS test formats, strategies, and performance skills. This role offers a rare opportunity to work across laboratory experimentation, scaled-up prototype testing, and field demonstration, partnering closely with industry to deliver contracted research outcomes that address real engineering challenges. Over the three-year appointment, you will build increasing research independence while strengthening your publication record, industry profile, and funding capability. About the Role As a Research Fellow (Level A), you will undertake high-quality research aligned with RMIT's research strategy, working with increasing autonomy as your skills and experience develop.
