About the opportunity Undertake independent teaching, contribute to a range of teaching and curriculum innovations, support student experience, supervise postgraduate students, and complete unit and course co-ordination duties. Contribute to Initial Teacher Education Primary programs, with specific expertise in professional experience. Contribute to internal and external University and School activities. About you A completed doctorate in the field of Education or closely related discipline. Demonstrated commitment to delivering innovative teaching approaches, assessments, and materials for units and courses. Demonstrated record of teaching in higher education, including initial teacher education and/or recent professional practice as an educator in primary school settings. Commitment to actively supporting outreach activities for the School and wider University. Demonstrated experience building partnerships with local schools and a willingness to work collaboratively with others across teaching and learning and/or professional placement activities. We are seeking a Registered Mental Health Nurse active on the NMC register to join the Mental Health Nursing Team in the Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Health at the University of Southampton. The team is experienced, friendly, and supportive and is enthusiastic and committed to developing the Mental Health Nurses of the future. Mental Health Nurses with experience working with children, young people and their families, as well as those with extensive knowledge of working with older people, would complement our current team, but this is not essential. You will be involved in the face-to-face delivery of our nationally recognised pre-registration BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing, our Integrated Masters of Nursing leading to registration as a Mental Health/Adult Nurse or Children’s/Mental Health Nurse, and our 2 year MSc Mental Health Nursing programme. You will have an exceptional understanding of issues facing contemporary clinical practice in Mental Health Nursing founded in your own clinical practice. We are looking for someone who shares our passion for outstanding nurse education and has a dynamic vision for how education and research can transform mental health care across the lifespan. You will have completed a Masters level qualification and ideally have higher education experience. However, we are also keen to hear from Mental Health Nurses who have a passion for teaching students and would like to develop a career in education.
