FACULTY POSITIONS (AT ALL LEVELS) IN COMPUTER SCIENCE, COMPUTER ENGINEEERING AND INFORMATION SECURITY  The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) is Singapore’s first University of Applied Learning, offering industry-relevant degree programmes that prepare its graduates to be work- and future-ready professionals. We offer competitive remuneration, generous employment benefits, access to funding to undertake research of relevance to industry, and opportunities to inspire and nurture the next generation of skilled and work-ready graduates. We currently have positions available at all levels, from Lecturer to Full Professor, in the following areas:  Information Security: Mobile/distributed systems security, Cyber Physical Systems security, security analytics, digital forensics, vulnerability assessment, malware analysis and defence, Privacy-enhancing technologies, AI security.   Computer Science and Software Engineering: SDLC, requirement analysis, design, testing, optimisation, analysis, simulation, database, computer graphics, distributed systems, computer vision, video analytics   Emerging Fields: IIoT, computational fintech, robot-human interaction, Trustworthy AI, Explainable AI, Large Language Models, Quantum Computing.   We have established research teams in operational cybersecurity, AR/VR/HCI and immersive technologies, future transportation solutions, AI, future communications/5G, BCI and embedded systems. We welcome candidates who can complement or strengthen these areas. Successful candidates will join the Infocomm Technology (ICT) Cluster (one of five academic clusters in SIT) as members of a team of accomplished experts who are passionate about higher education and deeply involved in industry transformation through applied research programmes.    Faculty in the ICT Cluster undertake funded industry-relevant research, teach courses in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security and Software Engineering, as well as supervise graduate industry masters and doctorate students in relevant topics. They are also provided with paid leave to undertake consultancy work with industry and/or spend time attached with industry.  We will prioritise collegial and team-spirited candidates with an earned PhD in a related discipline from a reputable university, plus relevant work experience or experience of industry-linked applied research projects. For this faculty position, we are looking for candidates with an engineering background, who have extensive experience in the area of digital supply chain. Essential Academic and/or industrial experience in design and managing digital supply chain solutioning and supply chain management. Having a background and interest in one or more fields of digital supply chain, including but not limited to digital supply chain transformation, digital manufacturing, E-procurement, E-commerce, E-logistics. Experience and knowledgeable in one or more areas of supply chain operations management, risk management and operations research, such as demand forecasting, inventory control, procurement, manufacturing, distribution, warehouse and transportation simulation, optimization and management. Motivated to develop and to teach curriculum in supply chain sustainability. Strong demonstration of interest to develop supply chain security, supply chain digital twin, and artificial intelligence solutions through applied research projects. Desirable Good knowledge in digital supply chain-related technologies such as AI, LLMs, Cyber Security, IoT, 3D printing, automation, supply chain security, digital twins, and block chains. Hands on experience in commercial digital supply chain solutioning projects with both hardware and software elements. Experience in digital supply chain related projects with strong integration of the three pillars, i.e., Digitalization, Resilience and Agility, and Green Supply Chain. Preferred to having a PhD in a related technical area. Led or involved in strong industry - academia partnership projects. Research Fellow, Age Verification / Biometrics

The University of Southampton (UoS), in partnership with Ingenium Biometric Laboratories (IBL), is seeking a Research Fellow to design and implement a software framework for the testing of age estimation technologies (AET) from facial images This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge biometric research at the intersection of computer science and digital identity technologies. Funded by Innovate UK through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), the Fellow will lead the development of an end-to-end AET testing framework, encompassing data assembly, software interfacing, test design, statistical analysis, and results reporting. The role will also involve planning and managing project activities, building research skills and networks, and engaging with academic and industrial partners under appropriate guidance and supervision.  The Research Fellow will be jointly supervised by the business supervisor Dr Chris Allgrove (IBL) and the academic supervision team led by Professor Richard Guest (UoS). The Fellow will be an integral member of the Ingenium team, actively contributing to the company’s research and development activities. Regular supervision meetings will be held at least once a week to ensure ongoing progress. In addition, formal management meetings will take place approximately every four months to review milestones, evaluate outcomes, and provide the Fellow with the opportunity to present updates to the wider project team. The role will also engage with a range of external stakeholders, including academic researchers, Funders, learned societies, and industry clients associated with Ingenium Biometric Laboratories. The successful candidate will receive a comprehensive induction at both IBL and UoS and will have access to staff training and development opportunities through the University to support their professional development and project delivery. This role is based full-time at Ingenium Biometric Laboratories in Canterbury, Kent. Due to the nature of the research and the lab environment, this is lab-based position requiring on-site work and as such, there is no option for hybrid or remote working. In addition to the standard pre-employment clearances for the appointment, all candidates will be subject to a criminal records check and further security checks defined by the Cabinet Office, as part of their Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Individuals will usually need to have been resident in the UK for at least the last three years to enable appropriate checks to be carried out and produce a result which provides the required level of assurance. As a University of Applied Learning, Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) works closely with industry partners to deliver impactful, application-driven research. This position supports a strategic research project on full electric harbour craft microgrid modelling, onboard energy management systems (EMS), and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) validation. The Research Staff will contribute to the design, modelling, simulation, validation, and optimization of electric vessel power systems, with strong emphasis on battery-based propulsion, onboard microgrids, EMS algorithms, and real-time validation platforms. Project & Research Responsibilities: Participate in and support the execution of the research project with the Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI, and research team, covering electric vessel modelling, onboard microgrids, and energy management systems. Contribute to the delivery of project milestones across modelling, EMS development, HIL validation, and system optimization. Support documentation, reporting, and dissemination of research outcomes to stakeholders and industry partners. Technical Responsibilities: Develop and simulate electrical and propulsion system models for full electric harbour craft using MATLAB/Simulink. Model key onboard components including battery energy storage, power converters, propulsion motors, and ship service loads. Simulate propulsion and propeller load behaviour under varying operating and marine environmental conditions. Integrate and evaluate auxiliary energy sources such as solar power within the onboard microgrid. Perform energy consumption, battery sizing, efficiency, and carbon performance studies for electric vessels. Design and implement an onboard Energy Management System (EMS) for coordinated control of onboard power systems. Develop EMS strategies for power sharing, battery management, and voltage regulation. Deploy models on real-time HIL platforms (e.g., Typhoon HIL, OPAL-RT) for system validation. Conduct unit, sub-system, and system-level testing under normal and fault conditions. Analyse simulation and HIL results to optimize EMS performance, including support for autonomous vessel operation. To liaise and communicate with any relevant internal or external stakeholder to ensure project deliverables are met. Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by Supervisor. Experience & Technical Skills: Minimum 3 years of relevant research or industry experience in one or more of the following: High-fidelity electrical system modelling using MATLAB/Simulink Electric vehicle, marine, or microgrid power system simulation Energy management system (EMS) or supervisory control algorithm development Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) platforms (e.g., OPAL-RT, Typhoon HIL) Experience in battery energy storage systems, power converters, and propulsion drives. Knowledge of control systems, optimization techniques, and stability analysis is highly preferred. Familiarity with marine electrical systems or isolated microgrids is an advantage. Personal Attributes: Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary research teams. Strong project management and organizational skills. Experience and commitment to student supervision, mentoring, and training. Excellent technical writing, presentation, and communication skills.
