We are seeking excellent academics to join our staff as an Assistant Professor/Lecturer in Clinical Skills and Simulation-Based Education. The persons appointed will have a proven record of teaching, research and publication, appropriate to career stage. They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the Department and undertake teaching duties on the Department’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as the supervision of Master’s and PhD students. The appointees will be expected to build a strong research profile in clinical skills and simulation-based education, They will be responsible, with other members of the team, for developing and managing the clinical skills and simulation suite whilst teaching therein through a diverse range of modalities including face-to-face in the classroom and skill laboratory (synchronous and asynchronous teaching), simulation and the virtual learning environment. In this role, they will also expand knowledge and practice through research and scholarly activity. Salary  Assistant Professor / Lecturer: €64,753 – €102,539 p.a. (7 points) Assistant Lecturer: €42,099 - €71,998 p.a (14 points) Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions. Graduate Research School - Mt Helen, Berwick or Gippsland Campus Full-time, continuing appointment Academic Level C - $136,795 p.a. plus up to 17% superannuation About the role As an integral member of the Graduate Research School you will have responsibilities for the management of courses and curriculum, and for the development and delivery of research skills and supervision training. You will also have some broad administrative functions within the Graduate Research School, while undertaking your own research and HDR supervision activities. You will: lead the development and delivery of research training and research supervision training for Higher Degree by Research Candidates and their supervisors; undertake research activities, including supervising HDR candidates; and contribute to the administrative functions of the Graduate Research School, particularly with respect to curriculum and course management. About you You will work as part of the team of academic and administrative staff within Federation University's Graduate Research School, supporting graduate research activities across all campuses and locations, and all disciplines. You will possess proven educational, research, research training and professional experience, with an understanding of the contemporary professional and educational issues related to graduate research. Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules. Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs Job Requirements A Master’s degree in Radiography or related field. Possessing a PhD will be an added advantage. Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in the acute / community / other clinical rehabilitation setting. Possess clinical experience and competence in Radiography. Having expertise in general radiography or other area of specialization (e.g., MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Angiography and Fluoroscopy) is preferred. Knowledge and experience in working with simulated healthcare institution and community environment and educational manikins will be advantageous. Extensive experience and knowledge of industry practices to bring industry perspective to SIT.  Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.
