The State University of New York at Purchase College is a state institution in the hamlet of Purchase which fuses liberal arts learning with conservatory training courses in visual and performing arts.
Part of the wealthy town of Harrison, Purchase is 25 miles north east of New York City, which is easily reachable by car or public transport, and just five miles from Greenwich, the other side of the Connecticut border. Around two-thirds of SUNY Purchase students reside on campus. It is just two miles from Westchester County Airport, which operates flights to more than 15 destinations across the US.
Established on the site of an old 500-acre farm in 1967 by then New York governor Nelson Rockefeller, a future vice-president, the master architect ordered “a city within the country” where fields and green space were preserved. Though the first batch of students enrolled in 1968, the campus was not completed until 10 years later. Subjects available at undergraduate level include dance, acting, arts management, photography, psychology, playwriting & screenwriting, new media, and various music disciplines, while art history and visual arts are among SUNY Purchase’s graduate programmes.
More than three in five of its classes consist of 20 students or fewer. A highly selective institution, fewer than 40% of applicants are admitted.
Singer-songwriter Regina Spektor, actor Wesley Snipes, who is well-known for lead roles in Blade, New Jack City and White Men Can’t Jump, and Susie Essman, most famous for playing Susie Greene in sitcom Curb Your Enthusiasm, all went to SUNY Purchase.

Postdoctoral Researcher (PostDoc) in Blue Economy, Coastal Luxury Tourism, Yachting Industry & Territorial Development Position Overview This position is launched by the Sustainable Real Estate Innovation Lab (SuRE In Lab) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (Morocco) as part of its strategic effort to expand its multidisciplinary research team. The Postdoctoral Researcher will directly contribute to the finalization and further development of the ongoing research project “Sustainable Tourism Development: Blueprint for a Green Luxury Yacht Cluster in the Tétouan Region”. Within this project, the candidate will help conceptualize and analyze sustainable models for luxury yachting and coastal tourism development in northern Morocco, while supporting SuRE In Lab’s broader mission of advancing innovative, sustainable, and territorially integrated approaches to real estate and coastal development. This role includes the design and execution of a dedicated work package on the Blue Economy and Yachting Value Chain, focusing on regional value chains connected to tourism, nautical services, and shipbuilding/repair. Key Responsibilities Under the direct leadership of the Director of SuRE In Lab, the selected candidate will develop the work package structured around: a. Value Chain Analysis in Marine & Maritime Sectors Conduct detailed mapping and analysis of the blue economy value chain, with emphasis on: Marine and coastal tourism Nautical and marina-based services Yachting operations and supporting infrastructure Identify strengths, gaps, innovation drivers, and strategic opportunities for sustainable development. b. Economic & Industrial Dynamics of the Yachting Industry Analyse industrial and economic aspects of: Yacht and superyacht manufacturing Shipbuilding, repair, and refit activities Marina technical services and associated suppliers Skills and labour-market needs in regional maritime industries Explore green innovation pathways for yacht manufacturing and maintenance. d. Integration of Blue Economy & Territorial Development Evaluate how yachting, nautical services, and coastal tourism contribute to: Sustainable territorial development Real-estate and infrastructure planning in coastal zones Regional competitiveness and resilience strategies Formulate policy and planning recommendations aligned with sustainable real estate and coastal development principles. 2. Research and Scientific Output Produce scientific publications, technical reports, value chain analyses, and policy briefs. Support SuRE In Lab’s training and capacity-building initiatives in sustainable development, blue economy, and coastal planning. Required Qualifications PhD in Blue Economy, Tourism Studies, Yachting and Maritime Economics, Territorial Planning, Real Estate Development, or related fields. Expertise in at least two of the following areas: Coastal and luxury tourism development Yachting industry and maritime industrial ecosystems Regional and territorial development Nautical services and marina systems Knowledge of shipbuilding, repair/refit processes, or marina management. The primary responsibility of this role is to contribute to the design, development, and deployment of an advanced content moderation framework for immersive 3D virtual environments, such as Roblox and Minecraft. The engineer will play a key role in building a parallelized, agent-driven exploration system and integrating a multimodal detection pipeline, ensuring real-time performance, scalability, and deployment readiness in alignment with the project’s research objectives. The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of faculty members, engineers, and industry partners, including renowned researchers at the College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS) at NTU. Technical skills, natural curiosity, versatility, and enthusiasm are highly desired traits that will enable success in this fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Manage the research project together with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Collaborate with the PI, Co-PIs and NTU team to design and develop a robust and scalable software system for autonomous agents navigating immersive 3D virtual environments (e.g., Roblox, Minecraft). Implement a parallelized agent-driven framework where multiple LLM-powered agents operate concurrently to explore user-generated worlds and trigger diverse contextual scenarios. Develop a unified multimodal detection pipeline that integrates video, audio, and text leveraging fine-tuned Vision-Language Models (VLMs) from WP3, supporting zero-shot reasoning and scene-graph inference. Ensure the system is deployment-ready by supporting benchmarking of inference speed, compute efficiency, and scalability with concurrent agents. Enable real-time adaptive learning via human-in-the-loop feedback and reinforcement learning mechanisms in collaboration with other work packages. Maintain high software engineering standards through rigorous testing, version control, clear documentation, and continuous improvement of development infrastructure (e.g., CI/CD, Docker, cloud-based services). Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
