Adjunct instructors work with students to provide them with the knowledge and training they need to be successful in their chosen career.Adjunct faculty members may teach one or more courses each semester based on availability and student need. These courses may meet during the day, evening, or online, based on the adjunct faculty's availability, expertise, and program/student need. We encourage potential adjunct faculty to submit application materials at any time, though availability of positions and/or specific teaching assignments is contingent on program need. Any teaching agreements will be made on an as needed, term-by-term basis. Responsibilities Teach specific classes in the Finance field in a professional and engaging way that creates an environment where students feel comfortable participating and learning.Review course syllabi and instructional materials to maintain currency and improve the courses offered to students as they seek their chosen degree.Assess student progress regularly and assign grades in a timely manner; measure student potential and achievement in concrete, understandable ways to ultimately help the student progress toward a degree.Maintain appropriate records in an organized, efficient manner for every class taught, and have this information accessible by students.Complete assessments based on university and accreditation requirements.Submit end of semester course grades to the University by the published deadlines.Communicate regularly and frequently and respond promptly to questions and concerns from students and department chair. Required Qualifications An earned graduate degree from an accredited university in Finance or another field closely connected to Finance to teach at the undergraduate level. A sufficient combination of experience, certifications, and education may also be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.A terminal degree from an accredited university in Finance or another field closely connected to Finance to teach at the graduate level. Professional experience in teaching area within the last 5 years.Flexible schedule, demonstrated ability to teach, demonstrated ability to adapt to new technology. Preferred Qualifications Previous professional experience at an educational institution.Previous experience teaching in different modalities (in person, hybrid, online) Proposed Salary The salary is commensurate with education and experience. We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us and study for your PhD, developing novel oligonucleotide (ON) analogues for medicinal applications. We are seeking an outstanding Doctoral Candidate (DC) for a fully funded studentship as part of the prestigious Horizon Europe MSCA Doctoral Network “Innovative Nucleic Acids Technologies for Analysis, Detection and Treatment INT2ACT”, coordinated by the University of Udine (Italy). The studentship covers UK fees and provides a generous salary, consumables, and travel budget. INT2ACT unites leading universities, hospitals, SMEs, and pharmaceutical companies across Europe. As a doctoral candidate, you will receive world-class interdisciplinary training, including academic, industry, and hospital placements, plus courses in cutting-edge science and transferable skills. Based in the School of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, you will research the design and evaluation of novel ON systems. Dynamic combinatorial chemistry is emerging as a valuable tool in drug discovery, where suitable precursors are selected and amplified from a pool of interchanging molecules (for a recent review see here). This unique system will be extended to oligonucleotides, where you will develop the chemistries necessary to create dynamic combinatorial libraries of oligonucleotides (DCL ONs) which will respond to suitable templating. The project will include high level organic chemistry for the synthesis of tailored nucleoside analogues and development of analytical tools to study the system’s behaviour. Applications in sequencing, sensing and aptamer formation (targeting) will be pursued, leading to entirely novel systems for biotechnology. Responsibilities include defining research questions, conducting independent research, collaborating with INT2ACT partners (including extended study periods abroad), engaging in training, and disseminating results in high-impact venues. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team and develop a wide-ranging skill set. INT2ACT emphasizes both technological innovation and researcher development. Doctoral candidates will gain transferable skills in communication, data management, project organisation, collaboration, entrepreneurship, research ethics, and intersectoral exposure to real-world challenges.
