IANIS+ annual conference - France

This year's IANIS+ (the innovative actions network for the information society - plus) conference takes the theme 'Building competitive regions: the role of innovation and ICTs in transformation, competitiveness, employment and cohesion' and will be held on 13 and 14 June in Lille, France.

The event will consist of plenary and parallel sessions. The plenary sessions will tackle two topics: 'i2010 - the regional perspective' and 'ICT impact on regional transformation and competitiveness'. The parallel workshops will tackle issues including:
- eGovernment;
- mobile communications;
- regional innovation;
- ICT infrastructure.

A number of high profile speakers have been invited to address the conference, including Jeremy Rifkin, author of 'The European Dream' and 'End of Work', and Wim Kok, former Prime Minister of the Netherlands.
