The Indo-EU workshop on climate change and natural disasters will take place in Hyderabad, India, from 6 to 10 September.

Discussions on climate change will address topics such as climate modelling, ocean-atmosphere coupling, satellite climatology and ocean mechanisms, while sessions on natural disasters will address floods, earthquakes, landslides, forest fires, desertification and policy research.

The objectives of the event are to exchange knowledge on the state of art in a this area of research, to provide a platform for networking, and to establish contacts between Indian and European researchers from academia, public research laboratories and industry.

The organisers also hope that the workshop will act as a catalyst for the submission of further research projects and actions involving European and Indian partners under the EU's Sixth Framework Programme (FP6).
