The Danish institute of agricultural sciences is organising the first European conference on the coexistence of genetically modified (GM) crops with conventional and organic crops, to take place on 13 and 14 November in Helsingør, Denmark.

The event will aim to answer questions such as 'how to maintain farmers' free choice to grow the crop they choose - GM, conventional or organic?', 'what are the implications of introducing genetically modified crops in European cropping systems?', 'what protective measures are needed to minimise admixtures within the crop production system?', and 'what are the costs?'

The conference is open to scientists, researchers, agricultural advisors, decision makers and others dealing with the scientific and agronomic aspects of GM crops and co-existence.
